Uhhhhhh.... so I was sent this by a friend of mine. Sort of not safe for work, the Funhaus crew opened a Pornhub account for risqué skits.

You can watch it here, but at your own risk obviously.

They're not even hiding it anymore, are they?

Maybe writing on the wall that RT is going to be absorbed into HBO? :optimistic:

Lawrence is a cunt who wished for my state to burn down because he wasn't happy with how the riots were progressing. Fuck him.

Lawrence could be his own topic of dumb-as-shit takes and confusing contrarianism with intelligence. Honestly glad he left FH, Bruce was a way bigger loss.

I couldn't watch the Dude Soup podcasts because of the frequent terrible takes they had. Lawrence was one of the worst. Any time a company would pull some scummy shit, he'd defend it because "it's making them money" and they had a strong bias towards game devs because they "knew people in the business". They'd also give very strong opinions on things they didn't even bother to look into beyond a surface level. If you are gonna base your podcast on current hot topics, at least put in the effort to understand what you are talking about. Of course there was also James infamous worst take on the Kingdom Come Deliverance controversy.

Everyone at RT had a phenomenally horrendous take on Kingdom Come Deliverance. It wouldn't even surprise me if there was a company memo that got passed around telling everybody what their opinion on the subject needed to be.

this is how it always is. I don't mean to sound Elitist, but when Gavin didn't know what the Dark Souls franchise was, and expressed amazement at a Dark Souls 3 coming out, Geoff I think saying Bethesda and Bioware could do no wrong and were his top gaming studios, Jack having Assassin's fucking Creed as his favorite game of all time and every AH member not knowing what Devil May Cry is.

that's when you kinda know they may play games, but only in the absolute most superficial way possible.

seriously, guy plays video games for a living and doesn't know what Dark Souls is? fuck off.

They're normies who produce video game content for other normies. When you consider that, it's really not a shocker that they don't consoom anything beyond the most basic vidya. I mean, consider how many Let's Play videos they made solely for GTA5 and Minecraft, two games that appeal to the basic gamer demographic. I don't want to actually try and work this out, but my guess is that those two games make up a significant portion of their videos, if not an outright majority.

You might think one should expect more, but from personal experience, their fans don't. My former roommate and his girlfriend would watch those Let's Play videos constantly for years, and they never once seemed to be concerned that they were pretty much watching the same thing over and over again. No idea if they still watch them, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I've watched Achievement Hunter on and off since about 2014 I think, and yeah, going back to their old videos is jarring. So much "lets just jump into a game and drunkenly fuck with each other" vs now.
It seems like they've been subtly retooling their content lately to have a lot more casual/party games like Fall Guys, Among Us, TTT, Prop Hunt. I think they realized its easier to create content where they can just bounce off each other's personalities instead of learning game mechanics. I think the last 'skill' game they did was Valorant and that ended the second the sponsorship did.

I'd argue that the last skill game they did was Smite, and not Valorant. The AH crew were pretty decent at Smite, too. And of course, Geoff was Bacchus at the time.

not forgetting the RT gaming podcast talking about MGSV with i think only one of them ever having played a MGS game before. where the fuck do you even find people like that..
That's one thing I find so fucking annoying: people who praise the fuck out of MGSV and yet haven't played any of the prior games, because if people have done so, they'd know MGSV was the weakest regarding plot. It's a great for its gameplay, but the plot could've done way more. On top of that, people only really regard it to such high praise because Konami martyr'd the fuck out of Kojima. If the drama that happened between them didn't go the way it did, MGSV would've been just another Metal Gear.

I would even argue it was not that strong gameplay wise. Moment to moment gameplay is fantastic, no doubt, but its level and enemy design is so poor (it did not need to be open world) that you rarely get to get much use of the fantastic moment to moment gameplay unless you intentionally experiment.

The other MGS games had clunky controls and some jank, but the enemy and level design were so superb that it carried those games to whole other levels that MGS5 never reaches.
