Wasn't Aunt Jemima cancelled back when all this started? I got some Aunt Jemima brand corn meal the other day, complete with her picture. Did someone have a common sense attack?
It takes time to rebrand, manufacture products with the rebranding, and sell off old stock. I'd expect in a year or so to no longer see "Aunt Jemima" products on the shelves.
I agree that some training in softer tactics or more of an understanding of mental health would be beneficial for how police interact with those who are about to or in the process of committing what is a crime according to the letter of the law. But guess what? That takes MORE funding, MORE staff, MORE care when trying to update police standards.
For all the left's squawking about having social workers talk down the mentally ill methhead on a bender, what interests me more is the thought of hiring more police who have training in psychology or social work. That would actually be a practical use for those majors.
I wrongfully assumed this settlement would result in the city dropping charges against the officers.... stay tuned.
If the city charges them, then a jury will let them go. Unless the cops involved are guilty of lesser crimes related to this case (such as witness tampering if it can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt they did shady shit after Taylor's death), then a jury can't actually convict. The no-knock raid was legal (even though it shouldn't have been), and, once they were fired upon, it was legal for them to shoot. Not every homicide is murder.
It makes sense that BLM hangers-on won't shut up about this case (although it seems like most of the really active BLM types don't care) since Taylor was an unjustified case of collateral damage, but it's still infuriating to see the continued abandonment of due process by the left. Just because you're outraged, doesn't mean what you're outraged about was a crime.
Okay, this is fucking hilarious. The president of Princeton University, seeking to orally lubricate the sphincter of BLM, put out a bullshit letter this year saying that Princeton is shot through, top to bottom, with racism.
Izzat so? said the Department of Education. In that case we'd better reclaim all that federal money we've been giving you all these years, because you're violating 20 U.S.C. § 1094(c)(3)(B) and 34 CFR 668.71(c) then.
"Therefore, the Department’s Office of Postsecondary Education, in consultation with the Department’s Office of the General Counsel, is opening [an] investigation."
Now the feds should do this to Ted Wheeler and his administration since Portland antifa won't stop accusing him of being a Nazi.
On Sunday morning, the United Kingdom’s conservative newspaper, Daily Mail, posted a story about Black Lives Matter protests under the headline: “Black Lives Matter protesters screamed in the face of white elderly outdoor diners during protests in Pittsburgh on Saturday, disturbing new video shows.”
They're being prosecuted:

Although I won't rest until someone goes after the scumbags who harassed that diner in DC.
Quite possibly the single most alarming thing about BLM/antifa bullshit is how authoritarian they are. Raise your fist or be screamed at. Say "black lives matter" or we won't give you your property back. Kneel or we'll show up at your house at night.
A lot of the rioting will blow over eventually, but how do you deal with two generations of Americans who think
authoritarianism being on the right side of history is okay?
