Yeah the "old guard" Republican justices have proven to be mostly spineless cucks playing it safe and keeping the status quo, but with these newer people Trump is getting in, as well as flipping lower courts like the 9th (which was BIG) there's ever increasing chances of blatantly unconstitutional laws to get struck down. It's a very long shot since Trump himself hasn't been the most friendly wrt the 2nd (bump stock ban), but the justices have a better shot.

I touched on that in my post in the other thread. Things have been changing for a long time and Trump has been under the laser focus of the media while nominations have been filling up and people are being outed as deep state/anti-trump/whatever else all the time. The nevertrumpers don't have a single leg to stand on and nobody besides the slimiest neocons take them seriously anymore. Romney etc is a joke outside of the magic underpants people. The left drags his cultist ass out of the closet any time they feel the need to pretend to be moderate. They are so far behind and out of touch that they will have no way to stop the momentum even being as embedded into the certain positions that they are in. It's the equivalent of guerrilla warfare vs lining up side by side in a field. They are so fucked and they don't even realize it yet.

The bumpstock ban isn't the end of the world and we still have binary triggers. It was a pawn that could be sacrificed after the largest mass shooting in the US and under the most despised president in modern times. It still disgusts me, but I understand why it happened. With how the courts are starting to go it may not happen again, but we always ahve to maintain constant vigilance.

In all honesty though, I'm not happy that she's dead. I am however, happy that she'll no longer be on the Supreme Court. I'd rather if she'd retired and had at least gotten a few good years in spending time with family/friends rather than suffering the indignity of being propped up by the DNC in some Weekend at Bernie's type shit just to stick to the Horrible Orange Man. You gotta take what you can get though and I'll take it.

Much like my old Grandma, I didn't want her to die, I just wanted her to stop trying to clean her own house at 90 years of age because she was clearly going to hurt herself.... but she was determined to have it her way...
