Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has died at 87. - 🦀

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Some people just aren't fit to have kids or even go through pregnancy. There's a reason pregnancy and childbirth historically was a leading cause of death amongst women and girls, and why prior to safe, reliable abortion infanticide was ridiculously common. Hell, even to this day the US has the highest rate of maternal mortality of any developed nation.
That is their entire purpose, though. At least we regulate infanticide and make it reasonably illegal; there's no such law for abortion.

If pregnancy/childbirth didn't kill me I'd probably go full Andrea Yates and snap and make dead baby soup in the bathtub. I fully admit to that.

It's honestly kind of amazing humans have survived as long as we have with how risky our pregnancy/childbirth is.
Why are you admitting this shit? :stress:

Just leave the thread at this point, you aren't helping the stereotype of people who support abortion being child haters.

I'm a literal surprised at the amount of pro-life people here, considering the amount of vegetable "please kill me" babies that have threads, but respect nonetheless. Personally, I'm pro-choice, but in the strictest sense. I'd rather abortions be incredibly rare; medical necessities, horrific rape cases, etc.

But seriously, what are the actual chances that any of this stuff will actually change? Now, I'm no lawyer, but changing the laws once is one thing, changing them back seems like it would be a bit harder.

Just realised that TikTok is banned tomorrow, too.

We're all gonna make it.

It's not a law, it's precedent.

Changing precedent is hard and frowned upon, but it's not literally impossible.

The court has indicated recently that they would be OK with changing precedent, in a way that hinted at Roe v. Wade. So it's very likely it could get overturned before 2024.

Just get your tubes tied. If there is no baby to abort it is fine. And you are clearly a tard and should be spayed anyway.

The thing about abortion is that the government shouldn't have gotten involved with it, the same thing when it comes to birth control or sex ed. Parents need to grow up and be parents. That means giving the birds and the bees talk with your own children.
Thirdly, if we want to prevent or at least minimize abortions, there should also be adequate access to alternatives that prevent conception in the first place (ie: birth control pills) and laws that heavily punish reproductive coercion. The problem is people who are against abortion tend to also not want birth control to be available and there are men and women who try to do shit like sabotaging birth control.

A little off topic, but did you know that 60% of zygotes conceived are aborted by the body for a number of reasons?

God went, "How can I make the American election even more fucked up?"

In all seriousness, they probably had candidates interviewed and vetted probably five times over with all her health scares. So its not going to be like they're scrambling for choices or this comes as a massive shock. Progtards were going "SHE'S OK, SHE'S JUST FINE, LOOK HOW SHE WORKS OUT BETTER THAN STEPHEN COLBERT" *nervous sweating*

I mean, she stubbornly took up a seat when she could have spent her golden years doing literally anything else. And what did she end up with all that stress, occupying this seat all this time? Nothing. Her objectives completely failed. She didn't get to see Hilary as President. She struggled through 4 years of Trump with massive health problems and having aides do most of her work while the stress pounded on her. What was the fucking point of it all?

Republican Senate Whips are fucking working overtime right now. Blackmail and favors are being traded to get this shit done before the election. Everything she tried to do to stymie Trump getting another Justice failed and she wasted her last years on Earth doing it. Every Republican's job in Washington is now to get a Supreme Court Justice. She gave the administration plenty of time to vet candidates. Its too far from the election to be completely stopped. So she didn't even die at a convenient time. Its like the soldier throwing themselves on the grenade but being five seconds too slow.

Dems will do everything humanly possible to stall this out.

the person that runs that thetweetofgod account is going to burn in hell for siding with a satanist
the god twitter is run by "comedian" David Javerbaum (guess the ethnicity), the account exists solely to mock conservatives and working class white people. he doesnt even follow the God gimmick any more it's a political account.

It's not even so much that I hate kids (though yeah, I do think babies are pretty disgusting) as it is that I have a history of mental illness and would probably end up with postpartum psychosis. That's what happened with Andrea Yates, her shitty fundie husband insisted on using her as a broodmare despite her worsening psychosis til she drowned all her kids because she was convinced she was saving them from a fate worse than death. She didn't hate kids, it's just that constant pregnancy and childbirth literally drove her violently insane.

Another fun fact, childbirth can literally rip your taint from vagina to anus. That isn't something particularly uncommon either.

I am fine with abortion being legal. I just hate people trying to moralize it to be NBD.
You're killing a baby, you are ending a life. Stop trying to pretend its anything other that.
Make dueling legal. That way an abortion can be served no matter how much time has passed after birth

Sounds like it's too late for you to be worrying about psychosis you loopy bint. Get yourself spayed, for the good of mankind.

No, this fails to accomplish the obvious public policy goals. With such a policy, women would have much more agency than is good for society. This is just another spin on feminism, like giving women the right to vote.
