Hi! First time posting here, so please let me know if any of this is incorrectly formatted or unnecessary.
Based on my understanding of schizophrenia, Amari's likely just making it up as a way to make her detachment from reality seem more legitimate. I won't deny she's delusional, but schizophrenic people are more often than not incredibly distressed by their delusions-- usually they're persecutory or paranoid in nature. More realistically, Amari would be worried about family members or friends turning against her or random people on the street who make eye contact with her wanting to harm her. It sounds like stuff a lot of online "fictionkin" do, where they say they're delusional/psychotic in order to be the most valid/real and speshul. It's a little convenient that all her delusions revolve around fictional men she wants to fuck IMO.

From my understanding the auditory hallucinations are very basic, say you have the aggressive voice, the playful voice, ect. Most describe it like a radio going on in your head that can't turn off but the volume changes. Not only that, but apparently culture can have an effect on the kinds of voices you hear.

I think her self diagnosed schizophrenia can be put under the list of ''things she did to be seem as more of a victim rather than the perpetrator''. Everyone can see right through it, she likes to put labels on herself to be seem as more especial and victimized.

As they already said, you can't choose the hallucinations and voices you'll experience. The fact that Amanda changed boyfriends exactly as it suited her shows that she is in complete control of her ''delusions''.
