In many prisons they consider masturbation SIB (self-injurious behavior) and being caught can put you under even stricter protective custody such as suicide watch. My old roommate who was a recovered meth addict got thrown in solitary for weeks at a time whenever a guard caught him jacking off.

I can't imagine what they would do if they caught an inmate using their own fecal matter as lube.

Someone give this guy more Horrifying ratings for that last sentence.

Oh, hey, dig this....
Megan's law has some wrinkles in it I hadn't expected.
I thought it worked like this....
Sick Nick is a pedo. Pedos get put on the Megan's Law Pedo List. Anyone on the Megans Law Pedo List is on the Pedo List for life.
Apparently, this is not the case.
Spoilered, because it is TL;DR.

TL;DR version....Sick Nick got busted for (IIRC...) 3126a(6) -- Indecent Assault. That means he's on the Registration list for 25 years. Not life. Only 25 years.
Now, if through some perverse miscarriage of justice, he is only in jail for, say, 21 years (3 convictions of 7 years each); and assuming he doesn't get put directly into a booby-hatch on release is released in ~2036, he would only be obliged to report to the authorities until ~2041.
This assumes that the 25 year countdown begins at conviction, and not on release.
I'm hoping for "Begins at Release", because then he'd be on a watchlist until he was 70 instead of 50. I'd say at age 70 -- between the lumbago and drying up of his libido -- he wouldn't be as much of a threat to any virginal poopchutes.

TL;DR version....Sick Nick got busted for (IIRC...) 3126a(6) -- Indecent Assault. That means he's on the Registration list for 25 years. Not life. Only 25 years.

Those are the three "minor" counts (themselves very serious charges), also it's § 3126(a)(7) not (6). The crown jewel of the charges against him is 18 Pa. C.S. § 3123(b). If convicted of that, he would be solidly in Tier III and subject to lifetime registration.

Also, (a)(7) is listed as a Tier III offense, so he's subject to lifetime registration under that. Also, there are three counts of it, so even if he pled to, say, three counts under the less serious (a)(6) charge, he'd be subject to lifetime registration under the last sentence of the Tier III criteria: "Two or more convictions of an offense(s) enumerated under Tier I or Tier II classification."

So either convicted of the most serious charge, or of the three less serious charges, he'd be subject to lifetime registration under that scheme.

I'm pretty sure the prosecutor chose these specific charges with the registration requirements in mind. I don't see Nick getting out of this without lifetime registration.

Oh, Wow.
I just looked at that again....You're right.
I (mis)remembered it as 3 counts of 3126a(6).....but (as AnOminous reminds us) its 3 counts of 3126a(7)
HE IS IN TIER III no matter what!
Even if the 3123 were to, somehow, get dropped, the 3126a(7) will still remove him from the playing field.
Ho ho ho holeee shit...He's on the pedo list FOR EVAH!

That is a relief.
Thanks for reminding me.

EDIT: Just found somebody who'll be in the same cell block as Nick.

Here's the hilarious part:
The Article said:
Bruce R. Schmidt, 52, was charged Thursday with two counts of sexual abuse of children, possession of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.

He was arraigned Friday before District Judge Tony Russell of Ephrata and sent to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Sick Nick must've made a really bad impression at his bail hearing....his bail was, like, 6x more than this Bruce guy.

He could get away with a single count of the lowest charge, however I could also see the procutor saying "plead to two count but I will not object to Nick being sentence to concurrent time" just to get him a lifetime registration

Even the most minor count is this: 18 Pa.C.S. § 3126(a)(7) (relating to Indecent Assault). Also in Tier III. Only (a)(1) is in Tier I, and the remaining subparagraphs are in Tier II.

In many prisons they consider masturbation SIB (self-injurious behavior)
Some Victorian mentality is still alive and well, so it would seem.

he's lost some weight
I'm wondering how he is mentally by now. It's been almost a month since Nick was arrested - a whole month without pokeymans or TMBG or tweeting "aboot" butts and "wife."

Ok got confused by the highlight... it been a long day getting ready for a sentencing hearing on a sexual assault

A lot of things go into figuring bail, one of them is the ability to be a flight risk. Nick has nothing really holding him where he is and he desperately would love to go to Canada.
another factor is age of accused, age of victim, and type and counts of crime.

It probably wasn't that Nick made the judge dislike him; it's probably that he said all the things that caused flags and trigger a larger bail.

It's also completely possible that the prosecuting attorney asked for this amount of bail because of all the assets his family has. For exampl, celebs get bigger bails not because their crimes were worse but because they have the money to get away. Bail is ment as a way to get you out of prison but also as a rope to get you to come back for your trial.

I'm wondering how he is mentally by now. It's been almost a month since Nick was arrested - a whole month without pokeymans or TMBG or tweeting "aboot" butts and "wife."
I too wonder how mentally unhinged Sick Nick is by now, just out of curiosity. I'd say he kinda deserves his mind broken as long as he isn't released where he can diddle more kids and smear more shit at all.

I believe that varies by state. In Oklahoma, it's done upon release, for the same reasons as NY. I dunno what Pennsylvania's procedure is. I imagine they made him shave. Prisons don't allow inmates to have beards. I recall some Muslim prisoners suing over that policy, so I think there's a religious exemption, but Nick wouldn't get one.
I'm calling it, Nick's probably going to convert to Islam (or at least pretend to) so he can grow out his beard and then try to flee the country and join ISIS once he gets out since they both hate the U.S. and approve of pedophilia
