Bare with me as most of this shit is stuff I am trying to remember from reading about these when I was younger and from a museum trip (AKA I might be pulling some of this shit out of my ass/misremembering).

What the fuck is that joke of a blade? Sheet metal, aluminum? The blades on these things are supposed to be HEAVY, like 80+ lbs heavy. The entire function is to drop something hard and heavy quickly to cut tissue and smash (or if lucky cut) bone. The weight of the blade falling is supposed to help drag/force the diagonal edge across an area (hopefully slipping in-between vertebra as it falls). This fucker wouldn't even be able to cut a water melon, most likely get stuck partially in. Its also supposed to be sitting in a groove in the wood or in between two boards so the thing will be guided where you want it and the heavy blade isn't just flopping around when it falls.
There is supposed to be a platform the "victim" lays on with their head inserted in the stocks in order to restrain the person so they can't wiggle around or slip out. Unlike what some popular media may say they didn't have people (normally) kneel in these things like some sort of medieval executioner. Speaking of which the stocks are too far on the outside. They should come up pretty close to where the blade lands so the executioner knows exactly where its going to hit. These also had the added bonus of helping straighten the neck in order to make a cleaner cut. The basketball sized hole they have wouldn't restrain shit.
The thing is also tiny and rickety looking, like a stiff breeze can make the thing fall over. These things are supposed to be pretty tall in order for the blade to gain enough momentum to cut through. This thing is no taller than maybe 6 feet because otherwise it would be too hard for their weak little arms to pick up by themselves. I'm guessing this is made out of 2x4s they picked up from home depo and "dirtied up" for aesthetic reasons (seeing how all the bolts look brand new). However I wouldn't put it past these retards to just find some random shitty wood lying about thinking it should be good. Real guillotine are bulky, heavy, large son of a bitches made out of big thick pieces of lumber. The guillotine needs to be rock solid to work and withstand the force of being used. Its not something you actually roll out, rather its something you build in place and drag someone to it.
That rope is laughable, its like they bought the cheapest one they could find at a hardware store. It looks like its leading to a hook or maybe a TINY pulley? Great chance for the rope to get caught coming down on that little piece of shit not to mention it having no way of holding the weight you actually need for a effective blade. IRL they would have a rope lead out a hole in the beam at the top, over a pulley and next to the beam so the guy dropping the rope can stand the fuck back from the sharp blade crashing down (and have a handy place to secure the rope with a little nub or holder on the side).
I'm not a expert in this shit (when I was a edgy teen I was interested in torture/execution devices). This thing would fly apart if you tried to use it to cut anything let alone a actual person.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
