feeling real bad lately. come to the conclusion that the Brazil model is the most likely for USA. Rightwing control with a docile opposition party content on fundraising off of outrage and making the bare minimum symbolic gestures. An uncaring rich liberal class "appalled" at the trampling of the constitution and stripping of rights, but largely unaffected due to their wealth allowing them to bypass it all. poor + downwardly mobile middle class becoming more atomized and alienated from their own labor. Country run entirely off of speculation and gig work further privatizing every aspect of your life until you're allowed to own absolutely nothing.
With the death of Ginsburg the crisis in the US will get far worse.Since the Court is often split quite narrowly and justices in theory can serve for life any death either way can change the nature of SCOTUS and by defaut numerous decisions.Liberals will be worried that with her gone a window into someone challenging Roe v Wade has oppened not to mention other decisions.

who cares about Roe v. Wade? Trump is going to stack the courts mere months before the election, assuring he can throw out ballots or invalidate early voting and have it all rubber stamped by his appointees.

I think that Malcolm X quote is taken out of context.Like really out of context.What he was saying was that 'white liberals' were not really helping blacks at all(not exactly false) and that blacks need to organise themselves in opposition to whites as a whole.Lets not forget this is 1960 back when conservative white guy pretty much meant one step removed from KKK.Liberal white was more akin to a 1980's generic suburban white guy ie someone not openly racist but guarded.Just because Malcolm X was not friendly to liberal whites doesn't mean he was gonna jump into the arms of conservatives or whatever whites.

Liberals will always side with authoritarianism and fascism because above all else they value capital and the status quo. Fascism is the go to immuno-response to change and upheaval in a Capitalist system.
Fascism is not exactly friendly to a free market.It may seem that way at first glance but in fact a trully fascist system will be quite a controlled market system.Either directly or indirectly through so many rules you might as well not have a free market in the first place.Barring that contracts will only be given to friends of 'dear leader' who will slowly create a monopoly.Germany may not have had the kind of planned economy that the Soviet Union had(at least not until the war started) but it was by no means a free market.Of course fascists tend to ally with the biggest of big business and promise them what they want.A market monopoly in exchange for doing what they want.All businessmen hate the idea of competition and ultimately crave a monopoly.That's one reason why the market shouldn't be completely unregulated.Teddy knew that big business once it establishes a monopoly will only expand to take on the last competition 'politics'.You could say in every businessman lies a socialist waiting to get out ironically.
