No it wasn't. It was up 7 million votes from the election before and 4.4 million from Obama's first win.

2016: 135,719,982 votes
2012: 128,768,094 votes
2008: 131,313,820 votes
2004: 122,295,345 votes
2000: 105,421,423 votes
1996: 96,277,634 votes
1992: 104,423,923 votes

Edit: I forgot in 1992 that Perot got 19% of the popular vote as an Independent. Wow.
You have to account for as percentage of eligible voters for each year.

It's going to be one very old baby taking candy from another very old baby, and then the latter very old baby taking candy from the other very old baby. It's going to be a clusterfuck
If anyone gets in any rhetorical hits against Trump, it's not going to be Biden. These debates are going to be Trump vs Biden with the moderators supporting the latter.

Biden is surprisingly witty, and Trump makes enough speaking gaffes that Biden should be able to capitalize. Biden also fucks up speaking a lot. Neither of these guys are exactly great speakers.

Biden WAS surprisingly witty, was being the keyword there. The only recent debate where Biden did ok,(not great mind you, but ok)was a one-on-one debate with his friend Sanders, a guy who was lobbing softballs, being polite and kind to his old pal. Trump isn't Biden's friend, he isn't going to be polite and, most importantly, Trump motherfucking won't be lobbing softballs.

He's made some pretty good comments this campaign season. For example, when asked about QAnon, he said, "I support people getting the mental health they need".

Trump makes some completely retarded comments. Probably more than Biden.

I did somewhat. 2016 was not the peak but somewhat high. It was higher than 2012. Looks like 3rd highest since 1968.

2016: 55.7%
2012: 54.9%
2008: 58.2%
2004: 56.7%
2000: 51.2%
1996: 49.0%
1992: 55.2%
Bill Clinton had no issues I guess since however the GOP put up in 1996 must have sucked bad.

And 2000, Al Gore must had no voter enthusiasm lol.

So it looks like the 1990s was a apolitical time after all.

Cute how you're forgetting all the other stupid shit Biden has said, the constant "senior moments" the guy's been having, that little image posted on the last page showing him halting his campaign activities in the middle of the fucking day 3 times on average over the past few weeks, etc. Biden's brain is leaking out of his ears, he's not getting hits in against Trump on his own.

I guess we will find out who is right in a week

Oh fuck, if the Democrats surprise us and actually are dumb enough to try and give Rao or Lagosa the Brett Kavanaugh treatment then it can give Trump the ability to play the LGBT card and since it's a woman and not a man, they couldn't do the Kevin Spacey trick.

Well, that and the fact that Kevin Spacey was actually guilty of the shit he was accused of...
I hope he nominates a woman so we can finally have the discussion about female rapists when she's accused of raping someone in high school at a party.

I'm doubtful well even see him on election night.
That is actually an interesting point I hadn't thought of. It kinda segues with my earlier post about him calling a lid.

On actual election day the candidates are usually on camera all day. Will Joe be able to do an entire day? They'll have a camera crew on them as they go vote for themselves, etc. I can totally see him messing that up, looking confused, talking incoherently. The polls will still be open in most of the swing states when Delaware's closes. If I'm a swing voter in Arizona and I see Joe acting demented, am I gonna bother going to vote for him after work?

And he can't go two days in a row. So for him to be on camera all day on November 3, he's gonna at least need November 1 and 2 off. No public events for the two days directly preceding before the election?

It's getting harder and harder to hide him.

Wow. Sorry for sharing Fake News, then. The narrative for the past handful of years has been the complete opposite of what you've shown me here.

That was Bob Dole, and he was really, really boring.

Boring, but not a bad man.

I remember seeing a bunch of Hollyweird elites mocking his war injury back in 1996 and being really grossed out by it. Probably one of the reasons why I wasn't crying rivers full of tears when Robin Williams killed himself. Hard for me to paint someone as a "great person" when they want to mock a veteran's disability from the battlefield.

Biden reminds me of Bob Dole. Generally likable but are you really going to vote for this broken down robotic old guy that's only there because it's His Turn.
