Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has died at 87. - 🦀

There are no term limits on lobbyists. Which means they can still influence politicians restricted by term limits. You will then have naive and easy marks in office Instead of having someone whose experienced at dealing with said lobbyists. How about we make being a lobbyist an elected postion? Basically let the people decide who gets to be the bribe taker.

Also not workable. The problem is when you think "lobbyist" you only think of the narrowest slice of what that is. Someone backed by big money, big corporations.

What you DON'T think of is "Grandma Gertrude writing to her local senator on behalf of the knitting society".

A bit exaggerated, but that IS lobbying.

Any attempt by a citizen to influence a politician is lobbying. Its a big part of why no lobbying laws have really been made or could evens tick because how do you -begin- to define out what is "good" and what is "bad" lobbying?

An elected lobbyist will be held accountable based on performance of who elected them. Bad idea or not. There needs ti be a way to get this legal bribery under control and restriction doesmt seem to work

I swear to god this fucking eunuch watches FOX News more than half the racist grandparents in the U.S. combined. Where the Hell does he even find the time to work on his show if he spends every waking moment moment glaring homoerotically at Tucker Carlson?

Shoot lobbyists. Problem solved.

So where's the lie? Is he going to pretend the Left hasn't been actively losing their shit and threatening to riot and burn and loot (again) over this? Or excuse it because they're just impotently raging and aren't actually going to do shit?

Who would create the positions? How many? How would you avoid it being given only to massive moneyed lobbyists? How would you ensure that local issues are heard? What is literally -any- infrastructure for your idea? You have simply stated an idea and not considered in any way the massive myriad of reasons it'd not be feasible.

Really the problem is not lobbyists, those have always existed, but rather the politician-lobbyist revolving door where insiders sell their pre-existing political networking to various interests.
When a Senator or Representative leaves office, they should be banned from any future lobbying work.

You mean how you got people talking about what grade the NRA gives them?

THIS I can agree with. You can clearly define the actors, actions, and it might realistically lower corruption.

He is the CNN version of George Costanza.

However good thing nobody on the left even knows who he is.

Which is why I said make bribe giver/taker an elected office. It would create transparency and lock out corrosive behavior. The details you listed I wouldn't know.

I do know bureaucrats hate sharing turf. The bribe takers main job is find any one who Isnt going through him and penalize them. If the voters are not happy with how things are then bribe taker gets voted out and loses all money gained. If voters are happy then bribe taker can keep tsking cuts of various types of corruption. Like say hunter Biden deal. Bribe taker would get a commission of every corruption scheme then can find. Which would make them very interested in finding out waste, abuse and fraud.

I dont know. Its an idea I had. I dont have the details thought out. Its just based on the idea of redirecting bad behavior in a constructive direction instead of banning it.

Legalizing crime does not prevent the crime from doing serious damage.

Fucking nobody likes Harris. Why the DNC embraced the cunt I will never understand. She's an unlikeable woman and from the stories I heard, she's fucked people over if it suited her, and quite blatantly as well.

Two reasons I can think of:

1. She knows who her masters are, she can be snippy but she bows to the DNC leadership and bends to those with higher authority, she's not too uppity like the girls in The Squad who can snap back at them sometimes like a dog that hasn't been properly trained yet. For Kamala when the DNC leaders say "Jump!" she asks "How high?" plus she's mixed race being Jamaican and Indian, stuff like that is nice for IdPol pandering.

2. They still want to be the party that gets to have the claim of "first female President", they have black President with Obama (and Clinton hah) but they were hellbent on that with Hillary in 2016 but Trump denied them and this is their next best shot at getting a woman in there because in Biden's shape he'd be lucky to last a year or even 4-5 months in office but like you said Kamala is an unlikable bitch so they have to push her as VP to actually be in the position to take over for Biden since she sucked so badly in the primaries this last time around.

TL: DR: "cause she's the least crazy black female democrat politician they could find"

The question I have is way the one who was in her 80s and clearly wouldn't be on this earth for much longer?
The same reason @It's HK-47 gave for why RBG didn't let Obama fill her seat.

RBG had a rationale and logic behind her decisions, albeit faulty imo. Sotomayor and Kagan are rubber stamps. The same way you cannot make a movie star out of someone who has nothing there(Ashley Judd), you cannot make a cult of personality out of someone who doesn't have anything there. The people behind movie stars are the people who made RBG into RBG.

The 80 year old is the only one who would survive a cursory look into her past decisions, she was the only option.

They tried so hard to make Sotomayor and Kagan cult figures when they were each appointed.
