They got stale then they got good again for a while then they decided they were growing their audience too much and making too much money so lets fuck it all up.

They were absolutely not growing their audience, which is probably why they fucked it up. They hit 3M in late 2014, and still to this day have not hit 4, almost six full years later.

So I was looking for a tweet that I thought was a fitting example of current day RT, and saw this fucking dick-sucking attempt of a banner.

"Podcasts you'll regret watching", you have no idea how pretentiously real that is, lmao.

I remember the days of Achievement Hunter in the tiny office fondly. When Ryan's desk was a computer balanced next to a couch, and when they fucked with gavin by putting a rumble motor in his desk. When they first started VS and Go they were amazing series, and the early episodes are still some of my favorites. Ray leaving really killed my interest in a lot of what they did, though 2016 was the nail in the coffin for me.

I'm not informed on the timeline of when they were sold to WM or if it's related, but they had never been so overtly political before the 2016 election. Every Let's Play video went from some friends playing games and having fun to a lecture on why orange man bad. I haven't followed anything they've done since then, other than laughing at the absolute travesty that is RWBY. I followed the series initially as it seemed interesting despite the mediocre animation, but Monty's passing sealed the series' fate. It's blatantly obvious he was the driving force behind it's initial success.

Get woke, go broke truly is the motto of the last decade.

The 2016 election broke people like Jack.

After seeing RWBY's writing I pity any game he comes on board to write for.

The 2016 election broke people like Jack.

Jack was easily the worst when politics first started to seep into their content. I was able to handle the politics talk at first as it was mainly just him sperging in the occasional LP, but as the election got closer more of the members became more vocal.

I never cared for Gavin in the first place, but he quickly became an insufferable cunt. He's like John Oliver in that he's a random Brit who thinks they know what's better for American politics than we do.

Yeah, I remember Jack talking about politics on a 7 Days to Die LP how he worked for a conservative radio station, and he described them as "Polite, but dumb", and how they considered homosexuality to be a disease, and wanted to cure it. What's funny for me is that he's gone full woke, and yet Ray told a story back on the Internet box podcast how Jack dragged him to a titty club. Imagine going from "fuck yeah stripper time" to "orange man bad" in a matter of a decade.

Like I mentioned before, at some point I saw him on twitter snap at some random girl who asked why he doesn't become a citizen of the US, and then had the gull to excuse it by saying if you're going to ask stupid questions then expect to get shat on for it. And when someone asked him again afterwards, he then calmly stated "the benefits are not worth it". I'm sorry, but if you're from another country, and and you don't like how shit's ran, the door is over there, fuck off and don't chimp out over stuff you won't help fix.

Would that be before or after he was married (to a woman out of his league)?

2012 I believe, I'm trying to find the podcast Ray mentions it, I've also been slowly arching the internet box to comb through on my own time, for Shits and Giggles, cause it is an amusing podcast, despite Barb's annoying voice.

Hmm, apparently he got married in 2013. Shame, would have been funny if that was after he was married., wouldn't have been very woke of him.

Reminder that Achievement Hunter had "Fuck Trump in his Cunt Face" scribbled on their office whiteboard for several months after the election (can be seen in the background of this video: https://youtu.be/C9z83ROIUxA) Apparently no one who works in that room saw that as objectionable or even just painfully immature.

I find Gavin interesting because on the one hand he's built a career around highly technical slow motion camera work, but on the other hand he actually has negative common sense and would probably have wound up dead by now if he didn't live in the safest and richest of first world countries.

I still can't believe he had a deranged fan break into his house to try to murder/rape Meg, and even after that point was still proactively anti-gun.
How can you you hate the idea of owning a gun so much that you would rather hide in a closet and hope some lunatic who broke into your house doesn't kill you, rather than claim gun ownership isn't evil?

"Well, you know, if you buy a gun then the baddies win, innit?" -Justin Trudeau Gavin Free.

Also I'm pretty sure Gavin is the last person on earth who should be entrusted with a firearm.

Gavin wouldn’t need a gun, he’d probably kill a thug by swatting him with some of his old Slow-mo guys equipment.
