Not too surprising.

How long do you reckon Alex is gonna jack off to this? Considering every game "opposing" his is now dead, and the only ones left suck his dick off and downtalk themselves nonstop (possibly except RY, which seemingly separated itself as far away as possible), cunt's probably got a lot to celebrate.

Alex is gonna feel a lot more confident about his Kickstarter now, that's for sure.
Learning that the game who stole your assets and exposed you for suicide baiting is dead must be an amazing feeling for him.

Why masturbate when you've got a $5000 sex doll?

An open source version could be nice..

It really would, because then some developer who isn't a pedophile (*cough* Apeis *cough*) would be able to create a Yandere game. Except the Yandere genre is cursed, LL has just been cancelled, and all of the other competitors of YanSim ended up being cancelled, abandoned, or incomplete.

But this is a thread about Alex, not Love Letter.
I digress.

Lol, no one wants to use the shitty code from any of these games. They'd spend more time fixing it than they would just writing it from scratch.

why would he fixes the bug if the game is gonna built from 0 again ? If he is fixing it shouldnt he just tell the programmer later to continue it. Not build it all over again?
Expecting him to get a programmer and stick with one, when he's already gone through a TinyBuild one because his caveman skull didn't understand the TinyBuild guy's refurbished code and he didn't like that or the fact he might have to bother learning, is honestly kind of naive.

LoveLetter is dead.

Looks like the YD fangirls bullied him to maddness.
TBF it was obvious it'd get cancelled sooner or later, especially after all that shit.

I wonder though, is it really cuz of YandereDev d***suckers and asspatters? Who knows, maybe Alex paid them to cancel it with his tugboat money :tugboat: so his Shitstarter would be successful.

Now way it was Alex fans. Most people have the capacity to realize how disgusting it is for a 15 year old to send dick pics to a 10 year old telling them to masturbate. This is just the fallout of Logan’s dirty secrets being exposed after months instead of how it took years for Alex. Easier for Logan to give up the project to get away from all the “drama”. He’s probably going to reinvent himself again. Alex only knows how to whine and threaten suicide.

I'm mostly just skipping the Love Letter stuff until there's an actual build. Its easy to sit on the sidelines and watch a SJW artist shit their stuff over a discord, its another to see what happens when the developer tries to turn art and concept and models into reality. Once we have a playable build in our hands, then I can judge to what degree the project is fucked.

But seriously, that artist is fucked, and I don't get why people think the years they've spent doing something counts for anything. I don't give a fuck if they have fifty years experience drawing, if they're still drawing like shit.

Guess I made the right call skipping out on caring until something was released.

I'm expecting the current flood of bugfix patches to slow down significantly. It's a safe assumption that one of the likely reasons why Alex decided to put in a little effort and get Osana out the door was because of the announcement of Love Letter that drew a not insignificant amount of attention from both his fans and critics. Now that it's (officially) dead, why bother to put in any effort at all when he can do very little and just pretend to be working hard instead?

Well, this aged like fine milk. Not surprised things ended up this way however, and I'm eager to see Alex's reaction to all this.
If he’s smart he won’t react in public at all. Good thing he’s not too bright. I look forward to his vague gloating until he realizes all the attention is back on him.., and the majority of it is negative

I had a feeling LL was going to die as soon as that shitty NitroNix VN promo got promo'd. So long, Love Letter. You overpromised and undelivered beyond all my expectations.

Now Apeis you rapist, give us that source code, I need to see more attempts at this genre. The yandere curse is real.

EDIT: Wrong thread, my bad.

God, parsing that is awful. I have a craving to take it apart.

I don't actually know what this piece of code is *trying* to achieve, but I'm gonna take a guess, as a good conditional should be clear and understandable, especially when everything is custom booleans.

TL;DR if you skip the block, Dumbass has repeated conditions, a complete disregard for scope, Checks that indicate he didn't even separate out Player specific logic over generic students, and checks that are impossible to actually perform as they match earlier conditions. This thing would be a bug generating NIGHTMARE.

So;
If You Are:
Holding a suspicious weapon OR
Holding a bloody weapon OR
You aren't a teacher, and your also not the first student (I hate that these aren't mutually exclusive), and you are not a teacher (Yes, we check twice), but you are holding something and that item is suspicious, OR
You are a teacher, and your holding something that is suspicious but isn't a cleaning product. Why would cleaning product be suspicious, the fuck. OR
You are visibly covered with any amount of blood and are not also covered in paint (????) OR
You are significantly low on sanity OR
You are pickpocketing. Why would you want to do the same thing while pickpocketing as you do while holding a bloody weapon? OR
You are Attacking OR
You are Cauterizing (What the fuck is there for you to cauterize? is that an easter egg?) OR
You are Struggling (with my sanity, clearly) OR
You are Dragging something OR
You are Not ignoring minor shit, but you are also lewd (What does that even mean? Are you dressed lewd? Are you being lewd? Are you using a secret masturbation action?) OR
You are Carrying something OR
You are Fucking Medusa. God he's not going to be able to turn off the easter eggs, they've been fucking embedded into his CORE CONDITIONAL LOGIC. OR
You are Poisoning. What are you poisoning? Fuck if I know. OR
You are Pickpocketing. Hold on, didn't we just check this a few lines back? OR
You have a weapon timer. Can't do whatever this is if you killed a bitch with a clock. OR
You are holding something, and the thing that you are holding is a body part. OR
You are Not ignoring minor shit, but you are laughing, *and* you are laughing sufficiently hard. OR
You are Not ignoring minor shit, but you are currently crouching. OR
You are Not ignoring minor shit, but you are currently crawling. OR
You are trespassing OR
You are private (???) And your also evesdropping (He is intermingling game state, character state, and event state All in the same class, Holy fuck is this retarded) OR
You are a Teacher (why the fuck isn't all this stuff at least grouped together) and you haven't seen a corpse, and you are tresspassing. OR
You are a Teacher And you are Not ignoring minor shit, but you are currently Rummaging. Y'know, rummaging, like a normal high school gremlin. OR
You are Not ignoring minor shit (Again, group these fucking conditionals at least) And You have a theft timer. Once again, very unclear. OR
You are Student NUMBER ONE And you are near senpai, And you are not talking. OR
You are Evesdropping, and this is private. For fucks sake, another duplication. OR
You are not in the combat minigame practice mode, and you are fighting a delinquent, And you have chosen a path less than four (What the fuck is the combat path? Why is it just 0-3 that are fine?) And you are not in the combat minigame practice mode (Fucking again, in the same goddamn condition check too) And you are not currently being watched by the Authority. OR
You are suspicious of a bloody mop (I want to know why this is the only one that doesn't have the 'This' prefix now) and you are holding something. OR
You are holding a mop, And your mop is bloody. OR
You are suspicious of a bloody mop, And you are holding something, And that thing you are holding is a body part. This hurts me, because this condition can never be reached, due to the previous suspicious of mops condition. OR
You are holding something, and it is clothing, and it is evidence (Evidence? Of What?)

And thats it. Thats the fucking BRICK he built. And here's my guess. This block of code? Is to tell when that "your about to be spotted" thing should pop up and people should look at you. This fucking steaming mess repeats conditions, has conflicting conditions, unreachable conditions, and can't be read. It also directly crosses multiple different game states as part of the student manager system, because fuck compartmentalization. This massive, unreadable mess, to determine "Should I start getting suspicious". God forbid the conditions that follow it, to determine how much suspicion to raise, and from whom.

This fucking mess needs to be compartmentalized, cached (Because I bet you every student reviews all these conditions every goddamn frame, including the Yandere herself) and rewritten. The whole suspicious yandere state checker needs to be offloaded to a simple value on the yandere character, yes or no. Whenever the player does something that could modify that state, such as enter an off limits space, pick up an item, or interact with a character, reevaluate those conditions. You'd probably have two flags due to this concept of ignoring petty actions, but same premise.

C#:
If(
    this.Yandere.IsSuspiciousSerious ||
    !this.IgnoringPettyActions && this.Yandere.IsSuspiciousPetty ||
    this.Yandere.NearSenpai
)
{
    this.DoRaiseSuspicionThing();
}

I really enjoyed and appreciated this write-up. Part of my programming with Python class had me peer review code and I didn't even see anything colossally redundant like that. People posting redundant print statements until they learn how to use definitions, sure. We're all guilty of that. But that big ass block of nonsense was just an Eldritch Horror and is straight up impossible to understand. It's a headache generator. Why would you do that to yourself? No wonder code progress is slow. Motherfucker is writing blocks like that and trying to debug it. It must've taken him at least a day to debug that thing.

From the bottom of my heart, I don't get it. Being a programmer is the definition of being lazy. You write instructions for a task you want to automate. It doesn't get more lazy than that.

I mentioned definitions in the above section, but the short explanation is that if you have code that's repeating, you can call it multiple times by turning it into a definition. For example, if you want to print to your user that they need to input something valid, instead of putting print statements all over the place, you can just define a print statement.

Instead of this:
while user is retarded and doesn't know what a positive number is:
print("Don't be stupid, use a positive number.")
Repeated over and over again, making your code a lot longer and a little bit harder to debug because typos happen...
Note: "while user is retarded" is not an actual way to program, it's just minor pseudocode to keep everyone here on the same page. It would actually look like this for this case: "while number < 0:".

We get this:
def __spicy_error__():
print("Don't be stupid, use a positive number.")

And you can call it by just calling the definition by typing: __spicy_error__() where you need it. As mentioned, this is mostly used for repeatedly calling code where you would use the same code multiple times over and over again in a program. What's included in a definition doesn't have to just be a print statement. You can also add in the "while user is retarded" part to the definition and it will work. You just have to consider the rest of the code around it. I usually add definitions last to my code for this reason.

Side note: Definitions don't have to have "__" on both sides of their name, but it's a part of the naming rules of Python. Naming rules are kinda weird because it's just all stuff agreed on to be correct, but the interpreter doesn't give a rat's ass as long as it works. Definitions might be called other names in different languages. However, I'm just speaking from the Python side because it is the language I'm most familiar with and basically everything Python has seems to be included in other languages, but not really the inverse so much. For example, Python doesn't have switch cases, though you can kinda use lists in a similarish way. Python programmers are basically else/if lords. Alex would love Python!
