You have to think of this situation in the context of that neighborhood. It's a literal warzone of daily shootings and gang retaliation.

These community centers are always a hotbed of that type of crime. There had been a previous shooting here three weeks earlier so it was reasonable to assume this was gang related.

It sucks, but the utter lack of common sense on Rice's part is astounding. He knew what he was doing, he just didn't expect someone who could do something about it to roll up on him.

I've heard the 911 call mention that the caller thought it could be airsoft, but dispatch didn't relay that part.

Just in time to spike the covid numbers and blame the orange man or regular people for them. Like where are we as a society that we can’t have science look into just how much virus spread is resulting from these protests/riots. I think it’s all overblown, but it seems to me that a big part of the reason they wanted all these BLM activities is to be able to blame the orange man for a bad Covid response, when it’s really just these social justice assholes causing the problem.

Loads that big of HazMat would get the ears of law enforcement to perk up.

They could load it with scrap wood and garbage without too much trouble. But hundreds of gallons of diesel or piles of magnesium scrap or whatever would get the cops called on them pretty quick. Nobody wants that crazy shit going down and you don't properly have 4th Amendment protections in rental vehicles. The legacy of a certain notable event that involved a Ryder truck.

Sounds like anyone who wanted to do an OKC bombing has enough foresight to know that doing so would not only be greeted with years upon years in the federal prison, but also any attempt would be snuffed out before any fireworks could go off.
