May was the one who set him up with his first real dealer though.

https://youtu.be/BeypQOhe-9A

This video was the beginning of the turn imo. All his friends moved away and he was planning to travel the country to go see them all. One of his first stops was his first meeting with May, they got high and fucked in a hotel for a week straight, Digi cancelled the rest of the trip and began making plans to move in together. That was the beginning of the end. Nate isn't anti drug, but he's a big moderation guy, just imagine what influence he could have had if Digi had continued his trip and had instead moved to Nate's town and they started their duo channel 3 years ago. That alternate reality Digi might actually be a semi respectable dude.
I have to doubt you on that, cause I remember a Digibro content phase where he was live doing shit with a lot of people. Such as the kingdom hearts playthrough on Nate's 2nd channel, and one of the Eromanga episodes. I think he travelled to meet a lot of his friends first, before visiting May.

My bit of speculation: Digi has a history of inviting fans over to his house (e.g. Riley and this guy). It might just be that he willingly gave his address to SpicySalts (whose name I remember from Digi and Tom Oliver livestreams) and he either showed up when he wasn't supposed to or things spiralled out of control at some point. The 'break-in' may just be damage control on his Digi's part. This explains why May would blame Digi for what happened.

Tinfoil hat time:

May was banging this guy while Digi was on a weed/mtn dew run, he gets back early cause the store was out of dew and finds may out of breath and half naked and a strange man jumping out of their window, May in her infinite wisdom says it was a kidnapper from the Karen farms.

The only problem with this theory is that Digi would need to leave his house. But I can see something like Digi passing out after taking drugs and she fucking this guy on the side

SpicySalts was in literally ever PCP related stream Ive ever seen. Dude always talked weird as fuck, but I never thought he was dangerous, just seemed like he was a schizo or had a bad case of the spergs. You guys said he was on podcasts or something?

edit:
Now that Hololive EN has been around for a while it's hilarious to remember that May actually thought she had a chance to make it in.

May's rap:

Mori's rap:

All members speak Japanese, some speak 3 or more languages. May only speaks English.

All members sound like professional voice actresses, May's voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

And I could go on and on, it's ridiculous.
I honestly never put that together, fucking hilarious. Outclassed in every conceivable way.

People think things like a weed habit is a joke or hyperbole. If you've ot smoking friends you may fid that if they can't smoke on a Friday night or whatever their night is ruined. They'll sulk and absolutely won't let allow themselves to enjoy their time, they'll spend less time with you and more time with people who's drug interests align. I'm not sure about it causing mental illness but if you have an underlying condition it'll absolutely bring it to the surface. Ask anyone who no longer smokes pot why and I guarantee they'll tell you a variation of it doesn't effect me like it used to or it makes me anxious now.

The trouble with drugs that no me dares to say is that they are enjoyable. Too enjoyable. I'm not saying you'll die doing em and end up in a ditch. Often you meet people who are doing deceptively well and it normalises it for you. Oh so and so does X and he's got a good life. You might just be seeing the start of the slide. Steer clear of benzos and opiates too. Like it even need it even really needs to be said but it sorta does. Nihilism is so common these days,

I kinda disagree with this. I think getting together with Amanda was a BIG catalyst for Digi's downward spiral. Not because she was malicious or because LUL WoMaN BaD, but because of the state of mind she put him in and the content she pushed him towards. She was and is overwhelmingly the more politically obsessed one, and started steering Digi towards topics he was not prepared to defend and because she pretty much agrees with everything he says gave him a false sense of confidence in his poorly founded beliefs. Prior to them getting together the most political thing he was into was the Dick show and only ever talked about politics in the same satirical tone that Dick does. Amanda is the one who sent him down the road of seriously talking to professional online debaters who made him face the absurdity of his positions, but because of his aforementioned poorly founded confidence decided to double down on them and start to form his life around those beliefs. She was also the catalyst for starting the whole weird "we are the same person" belief in him that led to his increasing dependence and dwindling sense of personal responsibility. I mean he would definitely still be a degenerate if he was never with Amanda, but he would probably at least be a fairly successful one based on his patreon numbers prior to meeting her, would at least be making semi watchable content, and wouldn't have nearly as many ridiculous stances out there for the world to see.

I agree with many things you say. The spectacular way in which Conrad went down has a lot to do with Amanda. I don't see him having been successful in the long run though. His appeal was always a combination of personality and anime content. And at some point before his road trip he had lost interest in anime and eventually all of his life stories around it had been told. Where to go from there?

MB and Gigguk have been mentioned here as successful anitubers. MB doesn't rely on personality, he has none. He's a pro though and he knows the end goal is to bring food on the table, not some artisitc self-expression BS. Conrad totally lacks the necessary dicipline to become that kind of an anituber and always did. Gigguk, despite his age and being in the business for so long sucks cock of the average anime teen noob who has been hanging out on /r/anime for one year and thinks the harem or battle shounen of the season is OMG The Best Anime Ever. He's so fake it hurts. Conrad couldn't pull that either (that's a compliment).

Without Amanda, Conrad maybe would have gone out in a quiter way. And I'm not even sure about that. The success with his patreon that came practically overnight fueled his ego more than enough to believe that people were there for him and him alone and he always felt the need to convince the world that he's actually super smart (while all evidence shows that he isn't). Maybe without Amanda he wouldn't speculate on Gates creating Covid to produce orphans for his pedophile ring or something but I still could totally see him making garbage mix tapes and reinventing psychology, his fans leaving and laughing at him for that, and him doubling down as a reaction ... leading to who knows what.

From the way they talked about it May and Digi recognized who he was and his social media handles. They've either talked or met him previously.

that is actually the perfect way to describe gigcuck. thank you for putting my hatred for him into words.

I've always tolerated Gigguk as a "cringy internet comedian" for anime and not an actual reviewer, but yeah Gigguk can be pretty bad when trying to be honest.
Gigguk struck me as a poor man's Demo.
Sure he is very funny as he has a good sense of timing and slick editing, however, he can't analyse shows that well.

Maybe it's a canary trap? Trying to see who says what. DemoD is a Kool guy with a lizard.

Man I know if I was this dude I'd be tired as shit of the fighting. Who the fuck would wanna live like that? Wondering who's going to nark, who to side with etc. What did that Karen farms rap shit get him. I think he probably sitting there just coming down like oh God what have I done.

If this guy were there to kidnap her—and Digi was present—why would Digi be searching him out for more information? Like if some guy came to your house and acted in a way that made you think he had ill intentions, would you then try to reach out to them on your own to investigate? Seems weird to me, like he wasn't there and Amanda was the one with the story which he's going off of.

Or maybe the guy was actually there to do something weird and Digi is just try to become some sort of Professor Layton autism sperg?

Also perpetually loling at how Digi went on the Dick show and said he would blast anyone who came to his house, but when someone does he cries about it on social media instead. Either he was full of shit (likely) or he wasn't actually around.

I expect they will meet, Conrad will call him out for stalkkidnaprapekilleating 6 million crazy girlfriends, they'll do some powering up, they'll beat each other up, Conrad wins, that dude will promise to never stalkkidnaprapekilleat 6 million crazy girlfriends again, and then they'll become friends. Next arc.

The funny answer is he's a pussy.
The real answer is either he doesn't own a gun and that was a warning to us or he owns one and just lost the nerve or maybe wasn't there. Yeah he's likely trying to get this dude charged. The cops won't investigate it themselves. They'll put it down to tranny drama and say we'll get right on it sir ahem, I mean mam ;)

This is getting to be a bit to sad and pathetic for me to find that funny anymore. At least right at this moment in time,

It's definitely strange, but it seems like they're trying to contact him as part of the investigation, at least according to May.

This sounds to me like the police said "Oh, uh huh, this crazy guy came to kidnap your..."girl"friend? And you're a youtuber who does...Asian animation videos? Oh, yes, of course, and "deathgaze" music production. And did he touch her? No? Do you have footage or proof? No? Okay, we'll take a report, we can't do much else, No, sir, giving us 5 twitter accounts isn't going to help our investigation. Look, sir, if the guy communicates with you and he tells you anything of note relevant to this incident, please feel free to let us know."

Which his dew and weed-addled mind interpreted as "Get in contact with him and prove he committed a crime, then we'll bust him."
