Speaking of surveys: got a call from some kind of state agency doing covid survey when I was driving. As soon as I mentioned I can't hear any questions due to a background noise, being at the wheel, they excused and wished me a safe trip before hanging up. No calls since then. Are they doing surveys in all the states now?

Not sure, but the news article using “survey” is incorrect. They were doing door-to-door testing and that is why residents were so upset.

What we now know:

There is no herd immunity at all for most people who get it and only a temporary one for some people

The virus easily penetrates cloths masks. Only an N95 mask offers any protection and get this - it's just for one hour and then the mask becomes useless.

However, masks worn by someone who already has Covid-19 can prevent them from spreading the virus to those that don't.

The main orifice of Covid is the nose rather than the mouth or eyes.

Smaller drops of Covid can linger in the air in closed spaces for 3 hours

Larger drops will just fall on surfaces and will last up to 17 days but can be easily cleaned with bleach

You don't have to present with a fever to be carrying the virus

Even if she didn't she is so goddam fat that even a cold would floor her.

Fat adults piss me off but fat kids break what little heart I have left. It's one thing to be a grown up and treat your body like a dumpster but to let a child get to that state is flat-out abuse.

All out dietary habits, our relationship with food, our taste buds, how we handle being hungry, that stuff all forms in early childhood. Even the levels of fat we have as kids determines size as an adult. There is totally puppy fat and some kids look chubby for a bit in that awkward phase where they gain mass but not height, then they shoot up.

But that poor kid is fucking fat and her "parents" abused her by allowing her to get to that size. Maybe it's better she's dead now, because as an adult, she would either have to face the monumental slog, both physically to burn the fat, and psychologically to break the appalling habits her parents let her form through binge eating, or more likely she would have seen how most other people are fatties, fallen into the HAES bullshit mindset and died early anyway.

Her parents did this to her by allowing her to be so goddam fat and that is beyond cruelty. Poor, poor kid, I hope they pumped her full of drugs to keep her pain free and insensate at the end.

That particular look, though...the swollen inflamed fat look that is centered in the upper body and where the neck and face fat ends up looking like a permanent travel pillow of fat choking off their air...there is almost no chance. That’s the kind of fat that would’ve eaten right through a gastric bypass, someday. She didn’t stand a chance. Her parents are no doubt the same kind of fat, and she was doomed from birth.

Some of the lockdown restrictions and opening up of dorms and other facilities make no damn sense. I live in a dorm, and every night, there are parties of 15 or more students that aren't socially distancing outside every single night until 6ish in the morning. Yet, I can't invite any guests like my friends or family.
