This is what is so depressing about this brainwashing on kids. Much like naming your kid La’Quaysha Mercedes Benz Jackson, you are setting them up for failure or at least a harder life. Why? So you can feel woke?Poor kid. Is being forced into a cycle that keeps him and those that look like him down.
Anyone remember how for a few years we kept hearing about how all parents of black kids sat them down for "the talk" about how not to get shot? We haven't heard much of that recently. Think Tamir Rice got 'the talk' before he went out to a park and spent his day pointing a (replica) gun at passersby unsupervised? Think that Michael Browns mother gave him the 'talk' before he was knocking over convenience stores or punching cops? She sure did a lot of talking afterwards. Breonne Taylor's mom should have told her not to hang around drug dealers. But no. It's almost as if the whole "the talk" thing is a complete line of bullshit and the only people who get it are those who probably don't need it because they have parents invested in their futures already. And the amount of unarmed black men who get shot that weren't doing something stupid as shit is probably countable on one hand.
And anyone who has seen the interactions between young black men and cops in urban centers knows damn well they haven't gotten 'the talk.' Challenging police is practically a necessity of social acceptance in ghetto culture. On one hand we decry how the police kill citizens challenging them and yet on the other you have these idiots training their children to put themselves in that position of being killed. Instead of trying to raise up other children they have decided to try and achieve equality by dumping their own into a quagmire of self-destructive behavior.
