Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has died at 87. - 🦀

Overthinking the importance of a judge to the party that threatened a constitutional nuclear bomb because of it.... OK. That makes sense. Underthinking the only way the left has been able to push the changes in law they wanted has been through judicial legislation... OK.

What would be better than attacking Barnes, would be to refute his points. Explain why Barnes isn't the bad judge he thinks she is or break down how ACB's pro life, her religious views being "radical" to Catholics and extremely "traditional" gender roles to put it kindly won't hurt Trump in the election with a demo he is already struggling with instead of hand waving what hes saying away.
Her being pro-life is a good thing. I'm pro-life that would win many pro-life people. And I have heard no such thing as her being a radical to catholics.

Seriously what the hell everyone spoke fond of her until now. What the fuck happen!

Barnes disliked some of her legal decisions, he slagged her a fair bit on a stream with Viva Frei. The lovers of Barnes have bent over backwards to make her sound like satan incarnate. Ironically, I largely agree with Barnes on the legal aspect.

Nah, probably just a fan. On matters of Law Barnes is one of the smartest voices in the room. Not -always- right, but fairly significantly so. He is also articulate and just the right amount of publicly arrogant to get a following. So understandably, people quite like the man.
Also by taking up legal fights IRL he has skin in the game. So it's not like he's just another talking head on YouTube.

Aye, I quite like the man myself. But he should stay well away from political predictions. He is great in law where his intellect and knowledge allows him to solidly hit on points. Yet when it comes time for a more predictive thing, like politics, his biases run rampant and he zeros in on specific issues that are important to HIM and assumes that those are THE most important issues.

The legal decisions Barnes raised concern me quite a bit. I have yet to run across anyone able to defend he legal decisions. That's my problem with her. It doesn't help she appears to be astroterfed and while I like Trump, the republicans are still a shit and corrupt party.

The idpol/religion stuff are optics for the most part and while important I dont care about that(besides her saying a catholics duty is to the pope but that's a catholicism problem).

We'll find out if Barnes is right in terms of the election. I have no faith whatsoever in her being a good judge. If what Barnes said was correct about the Jacobson decision any judge that cites that case favorably is not a good judge and not a judge I would want on any court.

The sheer, barest, irony here is you are so in love with Barnes that you are unable to see that someone can agree with him on Barret being worse than Lagao judicially... and still think he is a salty as fuck shit for predicting doom and gloom in the election over it.

Negro... idgaf about his biases. Idgaf if he is salty af that Lagoa didn't get picked because Barnes got ass raped in his younger years by some old southern rich fucks and that's why he hates them.

Explain to me why his legal issues with ACB arent valid. If they are valid kindly stfu. Him being salty is not nor was ever the point. ACB isn't a good judge then.

Why would I explain something only you are going on about?

Honestly @Gehenna understand your concerns. But i think Barnes should remmber dems are going to problely make asses out of themselves. We should know this since this is RGB's seat.

Especially Kamala who hates Catholics with a furey passion.

I don't really care about RBG enough to say anything but at this point I can't help but ask: what the hell is the Handmaiden's Tale even supposed to be and why should I care? I know it's stupid, so as soon as I saw it being promoted I ignored it, but now that they're insisting on using it as some hysterical political tool, exactly what am I supposed to be scared of related to weird puritan bonnets and ugly women?

Handmaid's Tale was a speculative fiction novel from the 1980's about a future U.S. where a military religious organization takes over following a coup, creating a society where rights (particularly women's rights) are severely curtailed. Most notably, certain women are forced into servitude as "handmaids", forced to birth children for the wealthy and privileged. A TV series adapting it broadcasts on Hulu.

It's usually used as a shorthand to decry people trying to restrict women's reproductive rights.

Did the author know that America was founded by a group of military minded religious people? That just sounds so bizarre. I don't know how you'd write anything but some weird and trashy porn when the whole concept is 'women are all sex slaves'.

It doesn't matter. The story was written a generation ago and had a different context back then. It's just the moral panic crusaders of this age latched on to it like it's some sort of prophecy because of the TV series.
