Retirements got so numerous in NYC that they started refusing to process them. Portland has had a similar jump. Seattle... well, I can't understand why ANYONE would ever become a cop in Seattle in the first place.

And then people ask "where are the police"?

Given California's liberal politics and that they've downgraded the intentional spread of AIDS from a felony to a misdemeanor, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for these people to be prosecuted under state law unless they were foolish enough to do so in a based area of the state.

I, too, had no idea until this was brought up. Even if Microsoft pays generously, can someone live comfortably given the higher standards and costs of living in the PNW area?

Even he was still working remotely for MS, it would be difficult for him to work regularly given his cross-country trips and his brief detention in Idaho when they found pot int he snack van when it's apparently illegal in Idaho.

It's possible he could be bankrolling his operations from personal savings. However, he has groused about the endless expense of replacing all four tires each time they get slashed -- suggesting either money is tight or that he'd rather grift his comrades to pay for the upkeep.

There's no telling how much he makes from selling any actual snacks used to front his operations, but I'd be willing to guess that it's an inconsequential sum and that he was being bankrolled somehow until he was recently #MeToo'ed

Most big tech companies have geographical pay bands, so he should have been making enough to be comfortable in Portland.
