I have it mostly second-hand from the Berlin books by Christopher Isherwood, where he, amongst other things while whoring his way around Berlin in the 1920's and 30's, does visit and befriend Hirschfeld, who explains his approach and findings to young Christopher. HOWEVER, another doctor (I don't remember if it was Hirschfeld personally) wrote him a FUCKING LETTER, which eased his pain and provided solace. He managed to continue living normally. So treating it as a mental condition absolutely works.

I've just realized how sad and pathetic troons are in general, think about it, they'll never be the gender thay they want to be, they fail to realize that there's more to being a woman or a man than just putting on some clothes and acting a certain way, because of things like bone and facial structure being different on men and women makes it easy to recognizes who's a man and who's a woman; that's why troons always stand out from the crowd, in their attempts to look like their opposite gender they end up looking like neither a man nor a woman, hell, just yesterday I saw this happening with my own eyes, I went for a walk with my girlfriend and when we were crossing the street we saw him, on the distance amongst a crowd of people, a big guy wearing a blue dress and a pink purse, it was bizzare and everyone else was looking at him outstanded by what they were looking at (I'm from Uruguay btw and transgenders are a very rare thing). All of this goes to show that, at least for me, is that 99% of transgenders are hopeless of ever passing, but even if they pass that won't last for long, they will age (if they don't off themselves that is) and good luck passing when you reach the age of 40.
Once you take all of this into consideration then is no wonder why 41% of them try to rope themselves, their whole live revolves around achieving something impossible.
