Not possible given the site is 99.9% text these days and has a few thousand active users at most.

But makes sense if someone's trying to sell the site, and is renting bots to inflate traffic to increase the sale price.

Except that the person buying the site is an administrator and a long time user. Jeff is flushing money down the toilet on it as an ego project, not to make it profit viable. All Lowtax needs to do is make up excuses why he shouldn't sell it over a period of months to slowly drive up the price. Jeff doesn't have the spine to put his foot down as long as Lowtax doesn't demand some absurd, to a power hungry mega jannie with more money than brains or friends like Jeff, sum for the sale.
