We are disappointed because of Coco's negligence in her colleague’s career. We are also disappointed with Cover, who repeated the same mistake over and over again and showed little evidence about improvement.

Thus, Hololive Moments will stop updating and private all our videos before Cover could make an announcement that satisfied all of us. And now, we need to give a shout-out to our Bilibili friends who have suffered so much discrimination and they need the respect they deserve.

Hololive Moments is created and helped by thousands of fans from Bilibili, those creators are our most important partners, and we value them more than anything else, even over the VTubers themselves.

When all the content creators got upset about the fact that they weren’t getting the recognition and respect they deserve, it’s on us to ensure their voice is heard. We demand their effort to be recognized, and their hard work to be respected. Yes, this is closely related to you, because many contents you see here and on official Hololive channels are created by fans from Bilibili. Many of them have decided to leave the community due to the disappointment, and it’s a loss to the entire community.

We’ve run this channel for 10 months and are more than grateful to have so many fans and quality Hololive content on our channel. However, without the contributions from our friends from Bilibili, there is no way we could make this far. Without their trust in us, there’s no way we could share these great original artwork and meme videos with you. They deserve more recognition and respect, and this is why we are giving a shout-out for our friends.
More than 2 years ago, after the Hololive First Gen debuted, volunteer fan sub teams appeared on Bilibili. Hololive noticed the sub teams and authorized them as official sub teams. The official sub teams never get paid but worked diligently to help to spread Hololive to more audiences. Now, the Bilibili sub teams have had a complete system for every Hololive vtuber. They have been translating clips and even full streams of the girls. Meantime, artists on Bilibili have made many high-quality fan art videos and PVs with millions of views.

Bilibili company further invited Hololive to do more commercials in Azur Lane, Bang Dream, etc. From which we can see a strong connection. Bilibili and the fan community kept on helping Hololive to get popular, which helped tremendously in the early years. For example, in the biggest Japanese anime-con Nico Nico Super Kaigi 2019, Bilibili gave Hololive the chance to be on their stage when Hololive was too tiny to get its own booth at that time. Financial income from Bilibili(data)
With the sub teams’ assistance, Hololive Btubers, such as Fubuki, Matsuri, Haato, and Aqua, went viral in Bilibili. During a period, their Bilibili income surpassed the super chats from YouTube. (For example, during May 2019, Aqua received approx 5.3 million yen from Bilibili, while her superchat on YouTube at the same time was around 3.5 million. During the three-months period when Aki got demonetized, Bilibili donation was her main source of income)

The incident and the consequences
Bilibili’s tolerance is limited, three strikes and it’s an out. Asacoco on 9/26/2020 is the fourth time Hololive runs into the issue. You can find the previous violations in the appendix. Cover was given a long time to address the issue since their 2nd violation, but yet it happened again.
In the 9/26/2020 Asacoco, Hololive vtuber Kiryu Coco violated the rules agreed by Bilibili and Hololive. Her following unprofessional responses have further provoked the anger of the Bilibili users and have led to a number of detrimental consequences to the entire community:
1. Hololive stopped all proxy-streams as a protection move.
2. Aki, Aqua, Suisei, and Matsuri’s Bilibili-exclusive streams got canceled.
3. While Coco’s income from bilibili is insignificant(0.7%) to her, Bilibili donation plays a much larger part for many other Hololivers. It’s unfair for other hololive members to receive such losses because.
4. It hurts Bilibili fans’, especially the official sub team members’ feelings. Many have quit translations and fan art productions.
5. It jeopardized Hololive’s business relationship with Bilibili, which may force Bilibili to cancel the future collaborations with Hololive. It caused a huge financial loss for both Bilibili and Cover. We may no longer see Hololive Collabs in Azur Lane or Arknights in the future.
6. Content creators are disappointed by Coco, Kiryu CoCo Official sub team and fan sub team Kiryu-Kai have disbanded themselves. Kiryu-Ka was the most iconic unofficial sub team in Bilibili. They uploaded 475 videos in the past 4 months. However, they don’t exist anymore.

Hololive and Cover had made a number of mistakes in management, and these events made us lose faith in their management team .
We’d expect things to go better at that point because they’ve promised to enhance the communication between the company and the sub teams, but little has changed since. More than 2,000 translators, editors, and artists are working in the official sub teams without pay since Hololive officially started their business in Bilibili, but without the respect they deserve. When such issues came up, Cover made insincere apologies, and their sub team was left to deal with the rages.
Hololive didn’t even pay attention to protect their own streamers. Mel, one of the first Hololive streamers, had to stop streaming for half a year without explanation because of intracompany harassment. Her physical address was leaked and she kept on receiving harassment letters. After Hololive found the stalker, he received no punishment except being transferred to another department. Such measures have shown that Hololive lacks the ability to help their streamers out of trouble and unable to treat their employees fairly.
When they got into legal issues with Nintendo, all Nintendo videos from Hololive had to be removed almost immediately. Thousands hours of hard work and millions of comments vanished, and there were no signs to recover. It angered thousands of contributors, and it makes them to once again question Cover’s legal department.
It shouldn’t end up like this when everything could have been avoided in the first place. It’s an awkward moment for many of us, and many of my friends are questioning themselves about whether or not they want to continue making subs and arts. What they asked for is very basic. They just want to hear “thank you” from their favorite streamers. They should deserve better.

Appendix I: Hololive’s history of Violations
At first, streaming on Bilibili was simple, VTubers were allowed to directly stream to both YouTube and Bilibili at the same time. However, there were constantly people intentionally bringing up anti-China issues in chats and then reporting their channels on Bilibili. Bilibili had no choice but to ban their channels for weeks. This happened to people in Hololive, Nijisanji, and many more. In order to protect the VTubers, from that point on, only proxy-streaming is allowed on Bilibili and YouTube chats have to be covered.
Hololive first encountered this issue in early 2019 when someone used a super chat in Aqua’s stream to say illegal messages in the stream. Aqua soon realized the problem and apologized. This time her channel was banned for a week as protection. She was still invited to future promotion events by Bilibili, and no one blamed her for her mistake.
When it comes to 2020, the world becomes more chaotic. Hololive had gained much popularity. While the fanbase has expanded rapidly, more and more people are seeking the opportunity to take it down by trying to get them involved in sensitive issues. From time to time, political traps appear in super chats and questions collected from the audience. On June 12th, a question from the audience sneaked on Choco’s channel, listing Tibet as an individual country. This caused her channel to get banned. Cover made an apology and promised such mistakes should never happen again.
Most streamers were very cautious about it like professional idols, they spotted hidden traps in many questions regarding sensitive issues around the world, and avoided those issues nicely. But this is not the case for Coco. Coco once got banned on YouTube for discussing Muslim related contents. Cover then announced that they would need to check Asacoco content before it was streamed, but it was turned down by her fans, claiming it’s an interference of streamer’s freedom and individualism. In fact, she kept using jokes on drugs, which is an extremely dangerous topic in many places in the world. Coco’s negligence caused the entire Hololive to be banned on Bilibili, and it scrapped the promise Cover made in June.

Appendix III: Bilibili Fan’s experience Fans in China don’t get many connections with the VTubers. Since most of them can’t watch streams on YouTube, Hololive provided an alternative way to watch streams through proxy-streaming. Their donations don’t get read, VTubers don’t react to their chats, those member limited streams and contents are not available to them, and the creators’ hard work rarely gets recognized. Hundreds and thousands of fans are working diligently in sub teams to translate hours of streams and tweets every day. When it comes to bigger events such as 3D debut or new skin reveal, tens of people work together to translate the full stream in a couple of hours. But a lot of their hard work never gets recognized. Bilibili exclusive streams are the only chance for the fans to connect with streamers and show them the wonderful arts and memes they made. Yet, such exclusive-streams don’t happen regularly. Some do it a few times a month, and some never did one.

Back in late 2019 when English sub videos of Hololive are few on Youtube, we decided to spread the joy of Hololive and to show the charm of Hololive girls to the English community by starting this translation channel. When the BiliBili translation community heard our plan, they were glad to provide help and share their resources with us. Even though few Youtube viewers will notice their hard work and those videos will be posted on a website they can’t access themselves, they seldom complain but focus on helping the Hololive English community become stronger. I'm willing to bet the managers hold the rights to the characters they portray. Haato and Coco most likely cannot go to another company (or just go indie) and still be the Haato and Coco characters. They'd have to invent new characters and then let the fans put two and two together regarding their former identities. Heck, it might even be possible that the managers could then find new "actresses" to play the Haato and Coco characters… though Coco I imagine would be tough to replace.

Anyway, when it comes to shitting on the CCP, we do have a CCP megathread which is pretty fun if you're a history fan.

If they tried just changing the voice but keep the same model they'll probably run into similar backlash to when Kizuna Ai started doing videos with a different voice without acknowledging it. I stopped watching her around that time but I think they eventually had to split the new voiced Kizuna Ai into a different Kizuna because their comment section was just getting flooded.

Them finding new people would only cause an explosion of backlash given Cover's track record already. I don't see them ever doing that unless they're really stupid, but Cover hasn't made the smartest decisions so I wouldn't entirely throw it off the table.

My take is that believe because they were verified and had clout they could pull this off, they forgot everyone hate China and would gladly support Taiwan just to spite them like it's happening right now

Korone is currently playing SMB2 USA, and other than a change in her layout, everything is biz as usual (though chat isn't seen on screen, so if you're not watching live, you can't see it.)

I couldn't catch the beginning, so I don't know exactly why, but one could imagine Korone is getting as ahead of people's shit as she can.

To my knowledge, Cover owns the characters themselves. In the few instances of talents who retired or "graduated", those characters have been retired. So there will never be another person playing Mano Aloe or Tsukishita Kaoru for example.

My guess is that Cover is at least smart enough to avoid another situation like with Kizuna Ai and the backlash her "four Ais" caused when people realized the original VA wasn't there as much, or at all.

Like i have discussed before with my guys on Reddit firing Coco is on to high position to be fired, she practically formed and shaped the generations after her in the ways of content creations ( for example if you want less memestatic Asacoco you watch Be healed in the morning chat with lamy) meme'd to reality two entire branchs of Holos, is the number 1 superchatted person in the platform, Cover must know that kick her will trigger a Kojima effect, aka other big companies are going to put bids on her and their user base are going to go the crap, at best she was not even scolded but to keep the retards on check they told her to take some rest, play some shit in Kowlo.... i mean holohouse or shill on her other channels, people know she is mostly untouchable (is a japanese thing, if you bring the big bucks the companies fold to you so you dont leave)

Haato in the other hand well, i hope the others are talking to her on discord because she was having a hard time on australistan being technically in lockdown and bored to death, people is less worried about Coco because she just dont care and know she cant be kicked but Haato could be a Aloe part 2 with her being to depressed-sad-tired to continue

Also it warms my heart seeing the Chinks being banned from Twitter, reddit and cia are patrolling the girls twitter responses and reporting chinks by the dozens

Coco is popular because she's the most Bilingual English-Japanese speaker and basically bridges a massive lingual gap between the Japanese team and the Overseas fans. English Hololive is now a thing, but I don't think any of those girls are quite bold enough to pull off a meme review or would have the same rapport with both Japanese and Overseas bros. I watched a few of the meme reviews and Asacoco's over the past week, and the Japanese and English fans would both try to wish each other good morning and then take turns using JapEnglish like "Sorrymasen" and "Yakademikustop" to piss coco off as she hates the Reddit sub using google translate japanese for memes. There was also a lot of "same" and "yeah" in various languages when a relatable meme showed up.

I dunno, it's nice to see that sort of cultural exchange happen in real time rather than the usual Youtube chat dross.

That and Coco I think is only 10 months old (?), she's been taking risks since early on. She's mentioned in streams that in the first few months, management tried to get her to stop being so wild and started to ease off when they saw what she was raking in. The Eng girls are lovely, but all of them unlikely to rock the boat while it's all still new.

I just really hope Cover doesn't dump her, or if they do - she's able to use the skills from her time as Coco to do something great.

I have side channels for 3 of them subscribed on Youtube. Coco, Noel, and Yozora Mel. Noel's slipped and called herself Noel once on her side account. There's also still clips of Pekora's old account too which was amusing watching her try to cover her cleavage wearing a cosplay outfit.

There's Tamaki, she runs her own indie vtuber group and while it doesn't pull the numbers others do, she's done streams with just about every Hololive girl as well as other indies and Nijisanji members, so she has relationships with many of them. It would be an easy switch if they wanted to do it, plus Tamaki's a manga artist and draws all of the members of her group so she probably has models ready to go if/when she could poach a couple Hololive members. I also wouldn't put it passed her, or other Hololive members to let the world know where their retired friend is now working either.

I don't get how the Hololive girls aren't making a stand with this one. COVER has allowed Mel to be stalked by a manager, they allowed Mio to eat strikes over the video game fiasco due to their poor management, and now sucking up to the CCP? Most of these girls pull a years wage in a month, why aren't they telling COVER they won't stream for the 3 weeks Haato and Coco are banned?

I know more of Coco than any of them because I think her very un-idol-like way of acting is funny so I tend to actually worry about her, I don't trust them to not fire her because China would rather burn a business to the ground than let them walk away.

I do hope Haato comes out ok too.

I'm surprised the Artia thing isn't really being noticed.
