For me, what breaks the he-said-they-said isn't one witness who materialized out of nowhere to suddenly corroborate the police account. Eyewitnesses in general are fairly untrustworthy.
It's the fact that the police covered up details of the case by adulterating evidence, lied about details, and their account isn't consistent. Meanwhile, the other side has not been shown to have lied about details and is an upstanding citizen (no history of devious and untrustworthy behavior). Plus, there has been very little transparency in this case.
Officials have also been coy in denying footage, only stating that the three officers charged did not have bodycams when the question was surrounding a different officer who was wearing a bodycam in the pictures. Press requests for that bodycam footage were denied on the grounds that it was material to the case, not that it didn't exist. If there was actual footage of them announcing themselves, reason dictates they would've released it if they had it. They haven't released the FBI ballistics report or even the autopsy. When the police have altered evidence in a case, that would call for greater transparency. Instead, we've seen less transparency in this case than in the others.

I feel like I've become more and more serious the past few months rather than the entire year, that's a scary contrast compared to my masked anxiety during my daily grind. The whole argument hinges on whether you would just bend over and take it if someone broke your door down and busted into your home when you had a gun on hand OR whether they did shout that they were police. Because if it's the former case, the cops intentionally introduced hazards both to themselves, to everyone in the homes, and to the neighbors by not announcing themselves as po-leece. You would then need to have a mighty good explanation for why you felt the need to introduce that hazard. Or why you would mark Taylor as "no injuries" on the report. Or why there's conflicting testimonies about how long she was alive after she was ventilated, or why EMS was abnormally not prepared to be on-scene as is normally the case for the issuance of these kinds of warrants.

This crazy bitches dad took out a restraining order that kept the father away from his visitation for 2 months and then did insane procedural shit to keep pushing it off. But then when the dad gets the kid for 3 weeks because of the moms idiotic procedural stuff, he needs to make up 2 days (even though the mom owes way more). Like what was the dad supposed to do? Cut off the visit to see his family and fly back immediately? That’s super expensive and ridiculous to demand that. It happened on Sat 24 August 2019 at around 10:30-10:45pm. The temp at that time was around 68-70F / 20-21C and there was almost no wind, 8.6mph/14kmh.

Being suspicious might not be a crime but it most likely will have consequences like police asking you for your ID.
And that's what the police did, they asked for his ID and Elijah refused to do this and kept on walking while the police ask him

Did he deserve to die? No, of course not. But he just had to show them his ID and probably that would have been it.
