It can be taken as axiom that a society that works... works. By conforming to such a society, you are enabling its continuation. Ergo, you are supporting a system that works. The fact that anonymity is a thing in modern society can be seen as malevolent. If you are not willing to have your statements attributed to you, maybe you shouldn't be making those statements at all. We are a social species, sociability is basically what put us above apes. Our ability to organize is what made civilization possible.
Conformism can be seen as an ideology in itself. Society works a certain way. I must work within it. So even if there are things society does that are wrong in my view, it is best to go along with it unless I'm in a position where I can change it. Since none of us are in such a position, it's best that we tow the line.
