I think estimating SA's usership in the thousands is extremely overly generous. I'm sure it's more just hundreds with a shitload of parachutes.
I can't imagine the people who regged just for LPs are actually active in the forum at large given what a huge cesspool of mental illness it is.
Average SA poster; joined in 01, only because you couldn't see anything without paying, and I had a bill to spare. Posted once or twice, gave up, read archives. I think most of the userbase has been in gawk and lurk mode since 2016 or so. For me it was 2015.
I have no interest in the site now and never got into the humor of it very deeply. It was an interesting place to read about crackheads, for a while. I look at the forum now and at the archive and feel that most users are/were similar to me. Paid once, never thought about it again.
I can't remember for sure when I signed up but I did pay for archives at some point. Someone else paid for platinum for me, I gave them advice in one of my 2 posts there.
I think you're right, and there may be thousands of registered users but only a small number are active these days. Very few would pay to get back into that site, if any. There's nothing to enjoy there. I'm not sure why it's even worth selling. What's to buy? The archive, maybe.
Maybe. It's past the peak. What does the buyer think he's going to do with it?
edit: saving a life that night
That guy is on another site, he's not using heavy drugs any more. Good for him. His profile last posted on SA about 6 months after my last post.
