Details: The debate will be 90 minutes long and have no commercial breaks. There will be no opening statements, and instead Wallace will dive right in with the first question to Trump. It will be divided into six 15-minute segments that Wallace has chosen. They are:
1) The Trump and Biden records;
2) The Supreme Court;
3) Covid-19;
4) the economy;
5) race and violence in cities;
6) the integrity of the election.

After the debates a poll will be posted on who you think won this first debate. Have lots of fun, keep the commentary fresh as I'm sure we've all heard many of the same lines for months and enjoy the beginning of the end of this presidential election cycle. Just as a reminder, on October 7th there will be a Vice Presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Mike Pence at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.

It’s more like how debates were in the 1860’s or generally how they were before this ubergay belief that politicians ought to be refined and considerate instead of fucking effective
WTF are you talking about? 1858 saw the Lincoln-Douglas debates, which were long-ass speeches given one after the other and the few times either tried to interrupt (Lincoln, btw) he was physically removed so he couldn't. In 1864 there were no debates. In the run up to 1868 Grant literally refused to campaign. There wasn't a debate during the general election until the 20th century.

The only thing joe had going for him was his bullshit im above it all im gonna heal us again lets restore our nation together stuff. Trump knew going in he was going to get blasted by enemy artillery (media, moderator etc) so he did what the chinks did in korea and pulled both of them as close to him as he could so everyone got blown up together.

"Trump angry child, Biden mature reconciler" is what Biden needed to project, "all 3 retarded children" is a loss for the biden/wallace ticket. Trumps thrives in the muck and shit, now they are all rolling around it trying to stab each other. Only one has been there done that his whole life.

Biden: "You insulted our military."

Trump: "No, you insulted our military!"

Biden: "You destroyed our economy and you killed twenty mi- two hundred mi- two hundred thousand Americans because you didn't lock down enough and destroy our economy more."

Trump: "You called me xenophobic for keeping China out even though they were heavily infected. They lied about their numbers anyway."

Biden: "You're terrible for the environment. Everyone's rolling coal because of you. I'm gonna put in the special smokestacks that make everything good and stuff."

Trump: "We need more forest management so forest fires don't happen like this. Clean, clean air, clean forests, everything super clean. I'm not gonna say anything about Antifa setting the fires even though I know that's what they did. I'm going to let you run your mouth, Joe, and not take advantage of any of your obvious gaffes."

Wallace: "You spoke for more than two seconds, Mr. President! Let Joe speak!"

Biden: "Antifa has no organization. You've got right-wing death squads going around killing people."

Trump: "No, it's mostly left-wingers burning down people's property. And you want to abolish the police, when I could've sent in the National Guard."

Biden: "Well, I'm not actually a leftist and I don't want to abolish the police or anything. I want law and order too."

Trump: "That's not what your progressive base wants."

Biden: "You want to get rid of Roe v. Wade and make it so we can't pluck babies from women's wombs like a tumor."

Trump: "It's not on the ballot, that's a lie. Oh, by the way, how does your son Hunter like that Burisma money?"

Wallace: "You agreed you wouldn't do this, Mr. President!"

What did I tell you? It's Jerry fucking Springer. With suits and ties. That's the way it's been for the past few elections. People actually take this shit seriously? Why?
Sure but it's not supposed to be. Look at this and tell me this is the man you want dealing with the rest of the world and calling other heads of state "clowns" and/or worse.
Because like it or not Trump is out current head of state and it shows Biden's dementia is advanced. Dementia makes people say inappropriate things because they aren't aware who and where they are. Biden as President would tank this country so hard because Kamala's only talent is as a fucktoy for old men.

So two points of analysis:

1) Historically, the incumbent has lost the first debate. Obama didn't do great against Romney, nor did Bush do great against Kerry. In that historical context, I don't think Trump fucked up terribly. Didn't hit it out of the park, but neither did Biden. Tie game, really.

2) Meme/viral moments. Maybe others can pitch in, but a lot of these debates/dialogues have lasting impressions through their viral moments. Think Trump "You'd be in jail." Did anyone have that this time? The only thing I can think of is Trump pushing Biden to name a single law enforcement group which has endorsed him. Biden looked fucking dumb not being able to answer. But I don't think the same happened the other way around.

Also, Chris Wallace is a fucking cuck. And this is the most sympathetic moderator to Trump. Clown world.

I'm still fascinated by Joe Biden insisting that it wasn't true that his son was dishonorably discharged from the military for being a coke-snorting idiot, though, because that's absolutely, 100% true and it was a big story years before the 2016 election. Like, that's not even a contextual mistruth or an obfuscation of certain facts, he was literally discharged for snorting cocaine. It's a blatant lie to say it's untrue.
He said it wasn't true and then a minute later said he went to rehab and got clean while they were shouting over each other. Again, says one thing, then when pressured/dragged into the mud says something that goes against what he said before.

Biden looked like someone grandpa who's trying not to lose his temper because the waiters won't refill his sweet tea.

I'm not seeing any difference between now and 2016. It's really just lockdowns and mail-in voting that's the strategy. No wonder they didn't need Biden to campaign. Democrats overplayed their hand with the riots and forced Biden to actual try. No wonder they waited so long to debate. So many people have already made up their minds or had their minds made up for them.

It's going to be a toss-up with how things are going to go this election.

:stress:
All he had to do was play for the moderates and look more confident and self-assured than the man who has to keep re-starting his sentences to keep his train of thought chugging along, and instead he was vague, incoherent, and kept mentioning things off-hand only his base has heard about, making it easy to paint him as lying. Even when he got the softball question about banning Critical Race Theory he flubbed it by not mentioning some of the patently questionable horseshit that ideology pushed.

I couldn't conceive of a scenario where Biden won without fraud last week, but I sure as fuck can now. He needs to get it together for the next two debates. His base is already going to turn up for him.

Tell that to China.
Okay they listen, and now fucking despise you. China has no nearby geopolitical allies for a reason. SK hates them, Japan, Vietnam, India, Taiwan, Phillipines, Tibet, all fucking hate China. When war breaks out they'll point the cannon at worst or not help at best.

I'd say Trump didn't do well compared to his other three debates but this was so much more a straight up 2 v 1 fight I can't honestly say Biden won either. What I don't like more than anything in most situations is an unfair fight. Oh they'll spin it that Biden was spoke truth to power or some shit, but Wallace was so desperate to be praised like his father was in the news circles he couldn't at least be consistent in being combative. If you're going to play along with the "only $750 in taxes" lie, you need to at least slap down the "soldiers are losers" lie. And now he takes head as the biggest joke of a moderator to date and gives Trump more ammo that the media is absolutely against him in every aspect.

What you call brash and assertive, I call annoying and overbearing. Biden maintains old decorum, Trump interrupts and uses school grade insults and quips. Not everyone likes his blatant unprofessionalism, because being a dick will you get you ignored, not listened to, on the world stage.

Yeah that was said last time and it didn't stop the United States from getting what it wanted just about everywhere in the world the last 4 years, as it usually does.

Biden maintained old decorum for about 6 minutes then started calling Trump names to piss him off.

All this debate was going to do was affect voter enthusiasm for each base.

Trumps base is going to come away largely unchanged.

I have no idea about Biden's base. The radicals definitely didn't get what they want. He probably didn't lose to much ground with Democrat "moderates."

Independents won't change their mind because of this debate.

As for who did the best job?

Well, all I can say is that Chris Wallace was one of the best team-mates Biden could ever have.
