Details: The debate will be 90 minutes long and have no commercial breaks. There will be no opening statements, and instead Wallace will dive right in with the first question to Trump. It will be divided into six 15-minute segments that Wallace has chosen. They are:
1) The Trump and Biden records;
2) The Supreme Court;
3) Covid-19;
4) the economy;
5) race and violence in cities;
6) the integrity of the election.

After the debates a poll will be posted on who you think won this first debate. Have lots of fun, keep the commentary fresh as I'm sure we've all heard many of the same lines for months and enjoy the beginning of the end of this presidential election cycle. Just as a reminder, on October 7th there will be a Vice Presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Mike Pence at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.

One notable moment was when Joe said that Trump's campaign was counting on the mass unrest and riots for political gain. So is this the proof that the DNC knows this crap is dragging them down in the polls?

It was absolutely hilarious when Biden was getting mad and bringing up Beau as if Trump wasn't talking about Hunter.

Biden was so pathetic. Joe’s best moment was when he was pointing at Trump, and calling him out about the soldiers comment. It was really well performed.

And then Trump immediately derails it by bringing up Hunter, and Biden just collapses into a stutter.

I am amazed that Biden is that thin skinned.

All he had to do was play for the moderates and look more confident and self-assured than the man who has to keep re-starting his sentences to keep his train of thought chugging along, and instead he was vague, incoherent, and kept mentioning things off-hand only his base has heard about, making it easy to paint him as lying. Even when he got the softball question about banning Critical Race Theory he flubbed it by not mentioning some of the patently questionable horseshit that ideology pushed.

I couldn't conceive of a scenario where Biden won without fraud last week, but I sure as fuck can now. He needs to get it together for the next two debates. His base is already going to turn up for him.

I agree Trump should have mentioned CRT talks about whites being lesser. He kind of got that point across by calling it racist. But we still have 2 more debates and the vp one next week. Not a total loss.

Trump is still gonna win barring an act of god or the dems cheating. The VP debate might be the more important one. Since we all know this is the Harris Admin with Biden, not the other way around. She only gets one shot. And Pence isn't gonna be a pushover or boorish.

I dunno, I think the small number of people who still give a fuck what CNN, MSNBC, or whoever else have to say about this election have already decided on who they're going to vote for. Shouting "TRUMP IS A NAZI!" has been tried before, repeatedly, over and over again, ad-nauseam and I genuinely don't think any of the people who need to be persuaded to vote for Biden will be persuaded by that kind of rhetoric, because they either aren't watching or don't care about incendiary rhetoric from the MSM anymore.

Hillary exposed Trump for who he was, yet we didn't listen. The only reason Trump won was because Americans disliked Hillary.

While Clinton was fairly competent and intelligent, unlike Biden, her debate handling was not dissimilar to Biden's - just media-approved talking points, thorough workshopped and vetted, passed through the bowels of a hundred professional writers, offering nothing of substance. Is Trump the only person in this whole machine who actually has real responses, who isn't a pre-scripted automaton?

I'm not a Trump supporter, but going back to a non-Trump world of liberals vs. controlled opposition, the status quo of the last several decades, is most unappealing. Too bad these last four years have not brought to prominence more real, honest-ish voices in politics. (And for that reason the Day Of The Rope cannot come soon enough.)
