I think that the CRT points can be summed up pretty quickly and succinctly for normies and I hope Trump has something better for next time.

Like:
"This Critical Race Theory training is crazy, it teaches people to hate and fear others on the basis of race. That is anti-American to the core, because we here in the USA judge by action and character, not by race! This kind of training, this racial division, is poisoning minds young and old."

I didn't watch the debate so I have to ask: did Trump Mention how the Biden Campaign created a bail fund to bail out rioters? Or is he saving that up? I mean that might be a valubale Point for the VP debate because terrible Harris did voice her support for looting and rioting.

I'd argue that Canada's political landscape vs America's is due (in part) to Canada being a parliamentary system. Since instead of being an all or nothing race, it's about getting the maximum number of seats, and so taking the most milquetoast broad appeal policies is going to be the de-facto choice for political parties. Also, the viability of running as a 3rd party (like the NDP) means that they don't have the same degree of fractured internal party politics, like what was seen in the Democrat party this year between the wokes and the neolibs.

/off-topic Canadian politics rant over

On topic on the debates, my jaw dropped when Biden refused to answer the court packing question asked by Wallace. I know it won't impact Joe's voting core, but to someone who is undecided it must leave an impact.
Its also just like most european countries. It doesn't matter nearly as much.

Based Dilbert Merchant: "I'm just gonna come right out and say it: The President Lost My Vote Last Night."

His complaint is that Trump didn't disavow White Supremacists. Then admits that Trump disavowed White Supremacists. But somehow it doesn't matter because he didn't really do it enough. And now he's having a sad because people are correctly pointing out that he's wrong.

Literally a stonetoss comic.

Remembering that Scott Adams has long since talked about "Pacing and Leading" -- that is, pretending to be a member of a group, echoing what they said, then manipulating them.

Edit: For the rest of the decade, every single time Scott Adams says something in public, someone should ask him if he disavows White Supremacy. Maybe he'll figure out how the game is played by 2028 or so.

No he didn't.

He wanted Trump to stop the entire debate, shout "OF COURSE I DISAVOW WHITE SUPREMACY" and him going "sure" was disqualifying because Trump was apparently trying to keep the White Supremacist vote. Or somesuch.

But as the Stonetoss comic up there shows, Trump could literally spend his entire life changing "I disavow" and they'd STILL ask him the question -- and start implying that his constant disavows is proof of guilt.

Edit:

Based Dilbert.... "I feel personally abused... he screwed me..." because he didn't stand up and fight the Fine People Hoax thing.

So yeah, Scott's mental malfunction is that he still thinks the media is being honest and fair. They aren't. Trump could deny the Fine People forever -- hell, Scott denied it forever -- and it wouldn't fucking matter.

Do you think Scott actually believes what hes saying or he's saying it for other reasons? I lost interest in him before the actual election in 2016 but he didn't say dumb things like this back then. In fact, he was able to see through them. What has changed?

I'm not sure he's actually going to vote for Biden. The election is over a month away and he might well have just forgotten about this by the time the next 2 debates are over. He's just one of those celebrities who has to give his opinion on everything on Twitter.

Generating attention.

It was interesting enough to know he said trump lost his vote to watch the video, even though I haven't followed him since early in the previous election. I think he just knows how to press people's butons.

Then he broke from the central narrative and fulfilled a scarcity; pro trump rhetoric.

Now he does the same amongst his viewer base: trump critical rhetoric (without going too far to lose his audience).

He'll have another good reason for why trump will win near election day.

Has anyone seen the ratings from last night's debate?

I haven't. Asking because there's an old saying, only the first 30 minutes count. People from the East Coast go to bed after that, people from the West Coast don't have the attention span.

If this is the case, online videos of debate moments become a lot more important than they otherwise would be. What matters is what people see after the debate, not the debate itself.

Joe Biden's twitter posted a post-debate smear video of Trump. It said he didn't go far enough to condemn white supremacy. Bad enough he bullshits his way into pretending Trump's a white supremacist, he lifts footage from Portland and Kenosha to call the anti-arson faction Nazis.
Fuck this guy. He includes a still of Kyle Rittenhouse btw, and calls him a white supremacist. I hope his lawyer takes the DNC to to cleaners for that.

Can we have a moratorium on posts about Barnes and Scott Adams? Sure Autism Speaks®, but let what those annoying fuckers speak stay somewhere else.

I think Biden's performance was better than I expected for someone with obvious dementia. I thought he was going to basically come undone. So I guess that means I need to reassess my expectations going forward.

I think the thing that will hurt Biden the worst was the line about Antifa is just an idea. That is probably not the best thing to say when people can see the destruction with their own two eyes. It's every bit as dismissive as if your store got torched and someone says insurance will cover it.

On the topic of stacking the court, I don't think it would happen, even if the Dems did win and I'll tell you why. It's not that they don't want to. They really want to and also they want to make DC and Puerto Rico states. They are absolutely in favor of doing whatever it takes to have a permanent control of government.

The problem is the filibuster. That has to come first. If they could do those other things and then abolish the filibuster in that order, they would do those things... and then drag their feet on the filibuster until the end of time. Because once the filibuster is gone, they no longer have an excuse to not do all the things their base wants. Free college, medicare for all, higher income taxes to pay for those things, wealth taxes, etc. This is one rare example where the establishment of both parties being the same is beneficial. None of those politicians wants a wealth tax. Their donors don't want a wealth tax. But as it stands now, the Democrats never have to put their money where their mouth is because they can blame the Republican obstruction and the filibuster.

It's like if your boss asks why you were late for work and you say got held up by a train. Well, you can't control the train, so that's not your fault. But you fail to mention that you would have been late anyways. That's what the Democrats are doing. They're blaming the train, when in reality they weren't gonna make it on time anyway. Michael Bloomberg gives millions to the Democratic Party. You think he wants the Dems to institute a 5% wealth tax and an increase in the capital gains tax? Not a chance.

And so because stacking the courts necessarily comes after abolishing the filibuster, stacking the courts will never happen. But at the same time, that shouldn't stop the Republicans from taking them at their word and using it against them. It's the best of both worlds really: we can hit them on something knowing it won't ever happen.

"Didn't disavow white supremacy enough."

The Trump administration literally labeled the KKK as a domestic terrorist group last week. Trump has been on record denouncing racism and bigotry multiple times throughout the course of his entire presidency. "There's no room in this country for hate," and "Bigotry goes against the values that America holds dear." But okay, that's not "enough."

"Enough" for these people means telling everyone that all Republicans are Nazis. That's literally the only way he can please these people, because the truth of the matter is that their motivations are very political and not about race in the slightest. That's why the Proud Boys were brought up in the first place. Conflating the Proud Boys with the KKK and Nazis is just ... Flat-out dishonesty.

That said, when Chris Wallace kept pressing, Trump had the opportunity to deliver a K.O. to both him and Biden, and Trump didn't follow through enough. That's why I stand by my statements that there was no winner of last night's debate.

Its getting to the point where its going to get their attention.
I disagree. Despite NYC literally dying before their eyes, plenty of my husband's apolitical coworkers think it's all coof related and aren't aware of DeBlasio's corruption.
The rioting and looting is seen as "young adults releasing pent-up frustration".
If apolitical normies in a deep-blue town can't see it, I'm cynical of middle America thinking this is anything more than "just what happens in an election year".
