Details: The debate will be 90 minutes long and have no commercial breaks. There will be no opening statements, and instead Wallace will dive right in with the first question to Trump. It will be divided into six 15-minute segments that Wallace has chosen. They are:
1) The Trump and Biden records;
2) The Supreme Court;
3) Covid-19;
4) the economy;
5) race and violence in cities;
6) the integrity of the election.

After the debates a poll will be posted on who you think won this first debate. Have lots of fun, keep the commentary fresh as I'm sure we've all heard many of the same lines for months and enjoy the beginning of the end of this presidential election cycle. Just as a reminder, on October 7th there will be a Vice Presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Mike Pence at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.
You can view Joe Biden's megathread here, and Donald Trump's megathread here

According to PPD Trump apparently did denounce white supremacists but both Chris and Joe were talking so hard over him you couldn't hear it. Just something it might be worth going back and listening to again to see how exactly that was handled.
Here's the transcript. Journoswine are getting more brazen in their lies.

Why doesn't Chris Wallace run for President then?

Shouldn't a moderator be neutral but firm during discussion?
He called out Biden on some bullshit, like when Biden said that Fauci never said masks could be bad. He also didn't softball questions at Biden, people keep saying that Biden refused to answer hard questions, but Wallace was the one asking. He wasn't necessarily biased, but he was inept at reigning either of them in.

Uh excuse me, but "stand back and stand by" is obviously a dog whistle for the millions of Nazi's he's seeded across the country over the past four years. Trump is clearly telling them to get ready to lynch niggers after he rigs the election and secures himself as president for life.
(God I wish this wasn't just a delusional left wing fantasy.)

I just wish Trump would say "My son in law, who is an important part of my administration, is Jewish. How can I be a white supremacist? My grandkids are Jewish." So I sort of agree with retarded dilbert merchant that he didn't get in that good shot he could have, but even the fact that the entire discussion and reaction is based around Trump, with Biden only tangential, means he kept himself at the center of everything once again. That's always Trump's strategy—make every issue defined by Trump. I'm not sure how these overpaid pundits don't realize that yet.

His last bit about being "vigilant" and refusing to accept a rigged election is probably the closest he got to actually saying that. I legitimately see armed conflict on the horizon.

Now that I’m at work and dealing with normies, the consensus seems to be that Trump won but he went too hard. Keep in mind that these are mostly Trump supporters that I deal with.
While personally I like him going hard on them all, I concede that they are probably right and he needs to tone it down with the interruptions. Keep it to quips and one liners.
The few libs around here seem focused on the proud boy comment, and general trump is an asshole and bully.
I honestly think the proud boy comment is his usual bait and switch routine. He says something vaguely inflammatory and does the opposite while his opponents look like frothing tards. It’s literally the most basic bitch con in the world and they fall for it every time. Trump isn’t some mastermind, he’s just really good a two things. Reading a room, and pissing people off. So he runs with that and it works.

Trump just sidelining Biden.

He has gotten so much better at it when you compare his performance from 2016 to this.

I love how Trump denounced the violence and also at the same time supported proud boys

And got away with it. The media is so fucking dumb.

Lol.
Are Proud Boys even really a problem? For the most part, they don't really pick fights. And when they do fight, they fight ANTIFA terrorists (who set property on fire and attack random pedestrians).

No they are not really a problem. It's like calling a patriot club in a university a white supremacists. It's just not real.

but jews are more hated than white supremacists by most voters...

Trump won that exchange. he did what Joe asked him to AND showed everyone that joe isnt willing to do the same on the left.
the proud boys will still vote for him, they understand the reason for him calling them out.

I'm sorry I haven't read this entire thread. Has anyone posted about this yet?

Why did Biden have two various wires falling out of his sleeve and one out of his jacket during the debate?

Given the amount of time I've spent around old people, it looks like a medical alert bracelet. The chain is constantly appearing and vanishing as he moves his arm.

The coat wire was probably something to do with his sound setup. They wanted to be sure every inflection got recorded. But it could be some other medical monitor.

Mainly because I just don't care. People are going to be fucking bombing and burning down buildings, shooting each other and whatnot election night. It's going to transpire into the week afterwards. Pretty much everyone's safety is at risk, no matter who wins.

The US as we know it is ending and I'm okay with it. We're on the brink of civil war, and I've accepted that I'm probably going to get shot in the street for nothing.
God, what a fag.

Of course it is. The riots were a dry run for November. We watched the left wing footsoldiers adapt to law enforcement tactics. We watched them practice hunting trump supporters. We witnessed as they learned the do's and don'ts of seizing territory and creating autonomous zones in the vein of old Paris.
But in return we saw Antifa's leadership bagged and tagged by the Feds. We saw how THEY work, down to details of their logistic and support networks. If right wingers worried about civil violence weren't taking notes as places like the farms and people like Andy Ngo (Or Nyu, whatever his name is) dug up dirt then they're fucking morons.

There will be unrest. Dont know if it will go into a war, but there will be riots and killings.

That's even worse tbqh. Why is the man that is on death's doorstep running for the presidency? The Founding Fathers fucked up on so many fronts by restricting who could run for what office and how many terms they could have. They had an EXTREMELY optimistic view of humanity.

I might be crazy for asking, but why interrupt or throw out anything at all during a debate, even if it's only quips and one liners (when it's not the open discussion part)? Irregardless of who is discussing, be it Biden, Trump, Russell Greer or the hamburglar - I just think it's disgraceful or rather embarrassing, that a debate, especially between two people vying for such high office, can't do without this kindergarden behavior.

On a side note - this is why Sanders would've been the better candidate. Even if you don't agree at all with his policies, I think we can all agree those debates would be that much more entertaining with his kind of energy, instead of Biden.
