I really doubt that. Obviously you don't take the base forums software because that's garbage. You build a new thing in say Xenforo or whatever the fuck you want, maybe do your own custom shit because you have to oustupid old SA, then just clone and convert whatever you need out of the database which Jeffrey has unrestricted access to, probably without a contract saying he wouldn't take anything, or any ownership or copyright of the original user generated content by Lowtax, which in my professional legal opinion I formed through reading dumb shit on the Internet would be next to impossible or just straight up actually impossible to prosecute.

I have to admit though it would be kind of interesting for that shit to go to court so we can figure out who actually owns that shit but even if Lowtax had any claim I doubt he'd actually do anything about it. Steal the forums Jeffrey, you know you want to.

The multiple terabytes of data thing was addressed over and over on SA. I don't know how true it it. Basically the forum is a holdover from much earlier tech. It can't run on a VM, or VMs and it doesn't do anything fancy like caching. Every page refresh sends the user a shit ton of data. It was the norm back in the day, which made hosting forums a lot more expensive than now. Somehow special cells and other junk really impact this in some way (FYAD, probated posts etc). It's a monstrous contraption incapable of being optimized without starting from scratch.

Or, more likely, there's 3 gigabytes of user data and the rest is because mods are trading CP thru messaging.

From the last dump we got of the innards of SA, they finally moved to VMs for at least some of their infra, though for a long time they were all physical boxed. I believe Chooch got them virtualized. But the page data is still largely unoptimized and the VMs are busier than they could be if someone who knew what they were doing would go through them.
 
You're right, there's some caveat though. I'm not a computer toucher so I don't get the nuts and bolts of a lot of it. I had no idea the DB was dereferenced. That would have been the exact second to migrate, then move the old servers offline to archives and hire some chump to fix it.

Yeah and when chooch explained that he would need to be "paid" to finish the job. Rich declined and then ZDR offered to "help" even though I think he did nothing but shit post and run the place.

He finally fucked off to some goon discord leaving FAU in charge and FAU burned out.

Tbh after all the mad gross fetishes I've seen lolcows have, like children, animals, sadism, vore, mutilation etc, a boring old foot fetish seems refreshingly wholesome. Though in his case he isn't much different from the sadists, he still batters women, he just doesn't get off on it.
