Interesting. So not to PL too much but one of my university classes is a history in film type of class. Basically we watch a classic movie each week and participate in discussion boards about its themes and relevancy to the historical issues and eras it's set in. This week's movie is LA Confidential (good movie btw), about a 1950s police force in LA. The questions for the discussion is ALL about the police situation in modern times and police brutality, race relations, etc. Not sure if I want to touch that tbh.

(Only half the class has actually participated it so I don't seem to be alone)

That's what I've been wondering all summer: If black people getting killed by police is such a terrible, constant epidemic, then why haven't there been any protests or riots about it since 2014? Why are people "protesting" incidents months or even years after the fact? If the incident in question was such a damn tragedy, what were all these people doing when it happened? Did they even know about it?

As far as whether it's organic or coerced, I couldn't tell you. I could see people graspong for straws as a reason to keep being angry, just as much as I could see some third party feeding them past cases. (The media was definitely fishing for a race story before they hit on the Floyd goldmine.) I just know it's depressing that nobody seems to stop and realize that none of it's making sense.

So you have websites and content creators trying to pander to Reddit, while marketers shape advertising campaigns and products around what people are posting there.
