US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

HOLLAND — A Hudsonville business has disabled its Facebook page after a profanity-laced exchange with a Holland resident over a political sign that some residents have called offensive.

Douglas Smith, 54, of Holland, owns Smitty’s Truck Wash at 3040 Corporate Grove Drive in Hudsonville.

At his home in Holland, Smith flies a Trump 2020 flag, supporting President Donald Trump in his re-election bid against Democratic candidate Joe Biden. In addition to the Trump flag, Smith displays a sign using derogatory language against Biden’s running mate, U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris of California.

A photo of the sign, sent to The Sentinel by a Holland resident who did not want to be identified, reads: "JOE & THE HOE VOTE NO 2020," in a font which mimics the one used by the Biden campaign. "Ho" is a slang term for "whore," often used with racist connotations. Harris, a woman of color, is of Jamaican and Indian descent.

Holland resident Marla Drost reached out to Smitty’s Truck Wash’s Facebook page after she saw the sign shared in a Facebook group called "Nasty Women of West Michigan."

"I thought it was very offensive," Drost told The Sentinel. She said the Facebook group linked the sign with Smitty’s Truck Wash.

"Despise your political sign!" Drost wrote. "Hope you lose business because of it."

The Smitty’s Truck Wash page promptly responded, ripping her message.

"Go f*** yourself b**** we won’t lose business over it," the response read. "Us Republicans work [sic] not like you worthless f****** liberals."

Smith’s yard sign was still on display as of Thursday afternoon after the online message exchange.

Smith confirmed he placed the controversial sign in his front yard — situated across the street from a church on Holland’s 32nd Street — but there was no connection between the sign and the business he owns.

The Sentinel was provided screenshots of messages bearing the company’s name and logo, however, Smith claims it wasn’t his company responsible. As of Thursday morning, the business’ page had been disabled.

"That wasn’t my business Facebook page," he said. "I don’t use my business Facebook page. You don’t understand. We are tied to the Nasty Women of Michigan and they don’t have a clue what’s going on. We see everything they’re saying."

On Google reviews of the Smitty’s Truck Wash’s services, critical messages dating back as far as one year ago had responses from the owner that included phrases like "must be trying to get points for your Obama phone loser [sic]" and "too bad you are just a hillybilly [sic] with no teeth homi [sic] get a life relly [sic]."

All of those comments were deleted within the past few days.

Smith refused to comment further on the subject.

"I don’t need to make no comment," he said. "This has nothing to do with my business. You have no proof that this was tied to my Facebook page. I’m not a very nice person when it comes to this stuff. You can make any screenshot you want."

The sign itself, and similar messaging, has drawn ire in other areas of the country. It’s not available for sale on the official Trump campaign shop, but rather by a third party seller — which claims it has no affiliation to the campaign.

The usage of the term 'ho' is white supremacy.

Smith, 54, who lives in Holland, could not be reached for comment. A representative who answered the phone at Smith’s Truck Wash said he was not working today. No one answered when an MLive reporter knocked on the door of his Holland home.

Marla Drost
Drost said she was “taken aback” when she saw the Facebook reply.

“I just think there’s a lot of meanness coming out of people this election season, and I don’t think it’s good,” she said.

And then the stream immediately died. You'd think that with all the hip, tech-savvy zoomers that packed their way into Biden's campaign, they'd manage to accomplish a single fucking thing related to technology without screwing it up. What exactly is the point of this? Who asked to see Biden chugging around on a train, let alone asked to see a livestream of the fucking caboose?
Biden and Kamala running a train on America is fertile grounds for afterhours meming.

I can't be the only one who notices the odd similarities between the mad tv version of john kerry and biden

I can see him pulling some of that, not to mention they predicted the earpiece stuff a decade before it happened
'my wife isn't black, but she is uppity and loud'
I doubt you'd be able to get away with that kind of ridicule of a PERSON OF COLOR these days.

What in the everloving fuck is that shit?
Anonymous NYC beauty business people donating all profits to the Biden Victory Fund...
They use Bidens name and likeness so surely they must have a license from Joe himself?!
And only 4 products on their store, only one of which appears to be an actual beauty-related thing.
This timeline... :story:

ETA: It's almost as if the anonymous backers think there might be something to lose by ridin' with biden publicly, which would be hilarious, but it's probably just some sneaky malarkans trying to make a quick buck.

Generally speaking, this is why holding a rally near a train station is a bad idea. Also, I thought Biden said he wasn't going to do rallies? Now that he's doing rallies, why is the crowd still like... 10 people?
Didn't Biden criticize Trump for holding rallies? I don't see too many people socially distancing themselves here.
