I think he admitted it just to beat anyone else to it, that's all. He's swung wide with his campaign so far specifically with grilling Biden over how he responded, and the virus himself and left himself open. If it got out before he came out, there are a number of ways Dems can use it, if he tries to hide it and anything happens be it death or getting out he looks like a liar, he probably thought there was less risk on rollING the dice and being honest, and he can say something like, "look were responsible and taking it seriously, but it's also not the worst, if you get it, isolate, but otherwise, whatever" if nothing bad happens.

I'm Christian and I want religion and politics to be kept separate. If anything I think it's scummy for Trump to use it for brownie points like he's done in the past. It doesn't feel genuine.
