So that California bill just creates a task force to study it. The conclusion is going to be clear: hey retards, the forests are on fire and we can't keep the lights on. Why are you spending on shit like this? Just kidding! It's going to be TAX BUSINESS TO PAY FOR IT
California is already in extraordinary debt and has high amounts of debt held by individuals - when you consider that the debt held by a lot of the homeless is probably close-enough to 0, it makes you think about how high the debt of people who -aren't- homeless have to be to prop it up. People with high debt despise taxes even more than your average sort, so the only possible way for Cali to raise this money - given that they're too useless to peel anything back - would be to... tax businesses more. Businesses which are largely leaving and already hemorrhaging the state's budget. While paying to fix shit that these riots broke - incentivizing breaking shit to get payouts.
Really, it seems to me that the state is caught in the grips of an administration whose MO is Thanatos.
