The left should want Trump to recover for another (cynical) reason: the only chance that " trumpism" as an ideology goes away is with a decisive loss for Trump on election day. A meager loss won't do it, and Trump not being there won't do it. Even then, optimistic.

I saw that and I was really confused by it, until I realized that it's most likely an optic game to minimize goodwill for Trump and criticisms of the DNC/the elites for later on. By doing so, they get to pretend to be bipartisan until Trump is no longer in the White House, be it death or losing the election.

Wishing for Trump's death, subtly or explicitly, looks really bad to potential voters. This is a smart play by them.
