I was of course a lot younger and less politically-aware during the Reagan and Bush Sr. administrations, but I really don't remember it being as vitriolic.

It wasn't, because before '92 the Dems didn't have "right side of history" and "demographics is destiny" smugness. The GOP beat the shit out of them at the executive level for decades and back then they didn't automatically expect to win and have tantrums if they didn't.

We got more claims being made

From John Roberts at Fox News:

However, a senior administration official told Fox News that on Friday morning, Trump was showing troubling signs of a possible progression from mild to more severe form of the disease.

The official said that medical professionals moved quickly and decided to transfer the President to Walter Reed out of an abundance of caution over what was seen as a very concerning trajectory of disease progression.

“Twenty-four hours ago, there was real concern about the President’s vitals," the official said. "For the past 12 hours, there has been zero concern.”

The official added: “Early indications are for an extremely good prognosis - but the next 48 hours will be critical.”
I’m not going to dismiss this out of hand, but John Roberts is a fag and got shit on by McEnany in the last press briefing.

You want people to be put on a watch list or CIA black site for being edgy on the internet?
Unfortunately yes but only for people with blue checkmarks or at least have them being put in a indefinite detention center
But let’s not derail this thread

Reactions: the fall of man
Those of you who still believe what the white house is putting out are dummies. Still unlikely that Trump actually meets the reaper, but right now it does not look good. We'll probably know within 48 hours which direction we are going.

And the election is in 31 days.

I take it you're too zoomer to remember the W administration, then? The concept of "TDS" is actually a riff off of "BDS" - Bush Derangement Syndrome. Libs were flipping out about that guy, too; celebrities promising to move to Canada if he got elected/reelected and then not following through. Hell, W won his first term with a minority of votes but an electoral college victory just like Trump did. There's a whole lot of similarity in lefty and media (but I repeat myself) behavior towards the two, though perhaps Trump has it worse seeing as how cancerous social media is far more prevalent now.

Nah I remember Dubya. People absolutely hated him, but this particular type of vitriol was mostly absent. I remember the narrative being more "He's a terrible piece of shit and I can't wait to vote him out of office" and less "This is the end of democracy in America and Trump is worse than Hitler, we have to shoot him." Then again, like I said, this just my own personal recollection. Might be rose-colored glasses, you know. People are shit and have always been shit, so I don't think ascribing any greater moral virtue to people in the past makes a lot of sense. It's just the current strain of progressive ideology that I think is new.
I think you're right - the chances are he'll survive.

But be 'fine'? Not in the short term. Any campaign plan he had is finished.
Don't be retarded. World leaders who beat corona get big approval bumps (for some reason).

Hey, it might work out for him - but he won't be able to have the campaign he planned for. But yeah, visiting battleground states virtually and delivering speeches from a chair with the oxygen tank just out of sight might not have the impact he would have hoped for if he had been there in person.

Or maybe it'll be better for him. Who knows.

I do not fucking care in the slightest if you make a dead Trump meme, or make fun of him being sick.

Just remember that most people aren’t jaded internet assholes or hyperpartisan sycophants. People are gonna stick to their tribes, but normal people are going to find the hate distasteful, no matter who it’s for.

You’re not fucking original for calling out the hypocrisy in either direction. Just laugh and enjoy it, and remember that people who value compassion and human life over politics aren’t the same people posting loudly about the issues on Twitter.

Man, with all this double speak, anonymous sources, he said-she said, and people willfully spreading misinformation, I'm glad I don't listen to the news anymore.

Though how better is it to be uninformed than misinformed?
It's a little less stressful, at least. Ignorance truly is bliss.

"when Trump beats this he'll see a rise in approval and polls" lmao the lunacy of believing that "I beat the virus that I've been downplaying for seven months, vote for me" is an effective argument.
Disagreed. It adds sympathy and makes the News media look like assholes in comparison

Also whats with this downplaying for mouths shit!! That didn't fucking happen. TDS really does make you retarded afterall

There's gotta be some kind of variable through why someone gets hit by it hard and why someone doesn't. It's stupid to believe that it's randomized.

Are genetics not random? It's got to be a genetic thing of some kind which is essentially random, right?

Maybe Biden is the long term effects of coronavirus

I'm really into the idea that Biden has just been a mass hallucination for his entire existence. That's some M. Shyamalan shit.

How about “The virus that I’ve been downplaying for months was effectively managed by the treatments I promised to get to the American people”? It might not play for you, but it seems reasonable enough to me.

Also, re: the claim that the physician got his treatment wrong in the report: he misspelled “Regeneron” and called it a polyclonal antibody “theory” instead of “treatment”. Should have been caught but it’s not like he replaced zinc with cyanide or anything
