Quick correction here, it is highly likely that Trump had no choice in the matter. Ironically, the president of the free world is one of the least free people. The Secret Service -runs- his life, and what they say goes. All it would take, and his doctor said basically as much in one of the memos, is for his doctor to go "I don't think I have what I need in case of the worst case scenario", and then the Secret Service puts a bow on him and ships him off to the hospital. A hospital, by the way, fully equipped to let the President do most of what he needs to. And all of this, every last bit of it, is imposed upon the President of the United States with VERY little input from him.
People think Secret Service agents are only there to scream "GET DOWN, MISTER PRESIDENT" and take bullets for him. They would much rather preemptively say "get down, mister president" and avoid risks to his life or wellbeing altogether, and they have the authority to do so. Otherwise we would have seen Dubya doing goofy shit like going to an unsecured bit of land in Iraq instead of a carrier's flight deck in order to make his "Mission Accomplished" announcement.
Something else people usually don't have click. The Secret Service is a law enforcement agency. Why does this matter? Well, because it means that the President can't order them around (Which he could if they were instead classified as military). This lets them boss the President around without the President getting much say in the matter.
This is what I fucking hate about contemporary media/politics. Instead of focusing on real issues and criticisms, massive reeeeeeeaches are made for more clicks. May I recommend "Amusing Ourselves to Death" by Neal Postman to show how entertainment corrupts media.

It's insane how the media's consumption by TDS has pretty much let China completely off the hook for unleashing the coof in the first place. The narrative is nothing but "Orange Man responsible for 200k+ deaths" with zero mention of all the bullshit China got up to back when this started, and are still doing today. The fuckers unleashed a pandemic (that may or may not have originated in one of their labs but haha whoops everyone who worked there died of sudden acute lead poisoning, what a shame), didn't tell anyone shit about it until it had already spread worldwide, bought up medical supplies around the globe and shipped them back home for their own use, and attempted to profit off of the Wu Flu by selling back inferior products to desperate nations. But nobody in the media and few in government are bringing this up at all, mostly due to the fact that one of the biggest names trying to hold them accountable is Trump, and we can't let him be right about anything, now can we?
All signs point to him being a very competitive guy without a lot of exceptional qualities, in a very competitive field. Trump isn't dumb but he's also not a genius, so he's learned to be forceful and direct in order to get his way.
Well to be fair, Left was always for China and Chinese companies. They're the ones who outsourced jobs and manufacturing there - as well as when the virus started, they were the only ones defending and deflecting it being man made and spread from China including defending/ignoring the WHO shilling Chinese prop, banning flights is xenophobic, go to Chinatown....etc. Whats most telling that they are heavily in bed with them, is their is not a peep about Hong Kong, and we know how much these bleeding hearts like to virtual signal about the oppressed/marginalized/disenfranchised.
