I've seen a screenshot of an old comment of mine but I don't see what is wrong with it, even when taking some distance, and how it is related to Doson's accusations. Hell, I even said that sticking to PC gaming was, and still is, an excellent alternative (for many reasons). Is he upset that I told to not be a sperg over wishing the death of a company, acting like it's Satan itself? Which wouldnt solve anything anyway if that wish ever came true since the problem is deeper than that.

It's not like I should expect much from a self-asserted lolicon but still.

Apparently, Sony is becoming so stupid that they made global the button prompt layout of "X=Confirm / O=Cancel" even in Japan. Despite the Japanese have a strong cultural code that "O=good/OK" and "X=wrong/not allowed/etc" (not to mention the button layout was equal to Nintendo's layout with A/B so no additional memory gymnastics required). I wouldn't be surprised if part of the failure of the XboX in Japan is because of the X itself in the name. Which may also explain why the 3DS XL was named "LL" instead in nipponland.

That's been that way for awhile now, the button icons for any of the colored controllers are even all the same shade depending on what style you get. Japan was the last hold out all that was unified pretty much in every other territory including Asian Continent releases and Hong Kong releases.

it never really made that much of a difference, Japanese Vitas are still imported to other countries despite the switched layout, the menu layout doesn't transfer over to games so if you put in a North American game it's going to be X to confirm anyways.

Besides the X=bad and Circle=Good isn't exclusive to Japan that's a thing in many countries.

The fact is the new global button layout is just another proof Sony is an american-ized brand company that is spitting on its old japanese core audience. Once again, japanese devs and players have to conform to whatever standards the californian overlords are imposing regardless of cultural differences, despite liberals publicly often love to pretend to be all for tolerance and respect of other cultures.

Dude everyone uses ABCD 789456123 for anything complex. Circle and X are still going to be C and D regardless.

At most this may occasionally fuck up someone's muscle memory for a menu but it changes nothing in stuff like Monster Hunter.

And how can it be western if South korea uses the same layout?

Did you forget the "O=OK/X=not OK" is a legit strong cultural thing in Japan (and makes sense in other countries as well) outside of the playstation? I suspect it's just typical american imperialism trying to impose itself in other cultures.

It's not something robitically ingrained.

Like geez Red=Bad and green=Good in most places but the X is Blue and the triangle on the Playstation pad is green and that's not really used in selection controls. These people have free will they can figure shit out. Saudi Arabia and Israel have different cultural norms and they use the same pads as everyone elses with no problem.

And as far as Imperialism goes, that's kind of a catch-22 with Japan being that it was an actual Empire that practiced imperialism.

No it's not, It was always the odd one out between Nintendo and Microsoft. The Xbox controller, at its core, is a Dreamcast controller with shoulder buttons and a stick below ABXY. Nintendo/MS both use A to confirm and people are fine with with ABXY being reversed on Nintendo because the SNES did it. The real problem was that they gave Shohei Yoshida and Mark Cerny full control of PlayStation after the PS4 was such a massive success for Sony, and it turned out they were fucking hacks.

Mark Cerny is currently in such a position where he's wanting Sony to either get Konami to license them the rights to their series like Metal gear so Sony could bankroll a Metal gear game using Kojima's studio or to just flat out buy all the dead Konami IPs.

A hack he may be, but he's no a stupid one.

I wonder if he's actually making any money off the ads he's posting. I don't think the comment section of his website would waste their time on these cracked versions of Windows or whatever especially since its fairly simple to get a cracked OS on your own. ... they wouldn't, would they?
