He's leaving Walter Reed at 6.30pm. The replies to his tweet about it are surprisingly positive at the moment.

I expect the MSM to lose their shit yet again.

I remember an uproar when Obama wore a tan suit.

Now, the issue is Trump putting on and taking off a jacket?

Why do people obsess with clothes?
I think Trump needs to build on this. Get on Twitter and talk about how he’s such a huge fan of clothes, from the garments himself to the act of wearing them. Protestors will do the opposite of everything he says after all. Start with clothes, then hair, then body hair, then something more outrageous like nipples. The protestors will become even more of a laugh riot then they were before.

Here come those anonymous sources again, via Vanity Fair (archive).

“Don Jr. Thinks Trump Is Acting Crazy”: The President’s COVID Joyride Has the Family Divided

The president’s recklessness at Walter Reed has Don Jr. pushing for an intervention, but Ivanka and Jared “keep telling Trump how great he’s doing,” a source says.

Donald Trump’s erratic and reckless behavior in the last 24 hours has opened a rift in the Trump family over how to rein in the out-of-control president, according to two Republicans briefed on the family conversations. Sources said Donald Trump Jr. is deeply upset by his father’s decision to drive around Walter Reed National Military Medical Center last night with members of the Secret Service while he was infected with COVID-19. “Don Jr. thinks Trump is acting crazy,” one of the sources told me. The stunt outraged medical experts, including an attending physician at Walter Reed.

According to sources, Don Jr. has told friends that he tried lobbying Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, and Jared Kushner to convince the president that he needs to stop acting unstable. “Don Jr. has said he wants to stage an intervention, but Jared and Ivanka keep telling Trump how great he’s doing,” a source said. Don Jr. is said to be reluctant to confront his father alone. “Don said, ‘I’m not going to be the only one to tell him he’s acting crazy,’” the source added.

One area where the family seems united is over the president’s manic tweeting early Monday morning. After Trump sent out more than a dozen all-caps tweets, the Trump children told people they want Trump to stop. “They’re all worried. They’ve tried to get him to stop tweeting,” a source close to the family told me.

The Trump family’s private concern about Trump’s behavior could raise questions about his fitness for office. Trump has been prescribed drugs that medical experts say can seriously impair his cognitive function. Last night the New York Times reported that steroids, which Trump is reportedly taking, specifically dexamethasone, are known to “affect mood, causing euphoria or a general happiness.”

There is a long history in the Trump family of denying serious illness. According to a Trump family friend, Trump’s father, Fred Trump Sr., insisted on working even after his Alzheimer’s disease advanced in the 1990s. “To retire is to expire!” Fred Sr. would say. The friend said that as Fred Sr.’s disease worsened––he once came down the stairs wearing three neckties––the family created a system so that Fred could think he was still running the Trump Organization. Every day Fred Sr. would go to the office in Brooklyn and they would give him blank papers to sort through and sign. The phone on Fred’s desk was set up so that it could only dial out to his secretary. “Fred pretended to work,” the family friend said.

The White House did not immediately respond for comment.

Surely the Drumpf is finished now that the heirs are squabbling over the crown. The walls are closing in, etc.

And isn't that last anecdote really convenient given the blank paper hoax Twitter was peddling just last night?

Why stop there? Just tweet about how breathing makes America great again, then watch and see who puts a plastic bag over their heads.

That "Don't be afraid of Covid" thing is definitely going to make them lose their fucking minds. They've been incredibly open about the fact that they want people to be extremely afraid of it, constantly, and him openly saying to not be so terrified and just go on with your life is going to make them furious.

They're definitely going to double or quintuple down on the "he faked it" narrative now. Expect those anonymous sources that were previously declaring he wouldn't live out his first night in the hospital to start claiming he never had so much as a sniffle.

He sounds like a snake oil salesman with that line "I feel better than I did 20 years ago!"

Enh. Older people frequently come out of the hospital feeling better than they did before they had whatever problem put them in the hospital, from my experience. Having experts actively monitor their health and diet for even a few days does a lot of them wonders. I don't doubt Trump is the sort to skip meals, not sleep, and other various foibles that are taxing on an aging body, but that a hospital won't let you get away with. "Twenty years younger" is probably simple turn of phrase and exaggeration but I don't find it at all hard to believe he feels better than before he got sick.

You speak in the future tense, as if every form of TDS does not spring into existence at the instant it becomes possible.

Donald Trump isn’t faking his coronavirus. He’s faking his recovery.

Given Donald Trump’s consistent history of lying, his frequent theatrical stunts, and the suspect behavior of his doctors, it’s fair to question what’s really going on with his coronavirus. After all, he went from a high fever and multiple experimental drugs, to suddenly being able to take a joyride around the hospital.

Now that he’s suddenly feeling well, many of you suspect that Trump was faking his coronavirus all along. But given the circumstances, that’s almost impossible. Trump would have to be faking the entire White House outbreak. That would mean Melania is pretending to be sick even though she hates him. It would mean Chris Christie checked himself into the hospital just to keep up the charade. It would mean that people like the President of Notre Dame, and Kellyanne Conway’s Trump-hating daughter, are all pretending to have coronavirus just to help Trump. You see how quickly this theory falls apart under scrutiny.

But Trump is likely faking something – you’ve got it backwards. It’s the “feeling well” part that’s a fake. The dexamethasone steroid he’s been taking would have him up and walking even if he were practically a corpse. It’s (temporarily) covering up his actual state of health.

A 70 - 80 year old man who they've lambasted as weak, unhealthy, mentally ill and never getting enough sleep, catching the Coof and shrugging it off is the worst case scenario for those trying to keep the lockdown going, no wonder they're losing their minds.

The anthropomorphic representation of poor health to a 21st Century Galaxy Brain just shrugged off what they think is the Martian Death Flu in 48 hours..... if he can survive it, so can you.

I've seen so many people dive hard into 'HE NEVER HAD IT' or 'HE'LL BE DEAD IN SECONDS' hysterics after this. I guess those early celebratory drinks are starting to taste like ash now that he just kept rolling, if anything one would hope it's a sign that with proper care you can actually recover. In a day or two there'll be more of the coping comments about how his death is actually for the better, then they'll memory hole it as fast as they can.

Lol 2 of my coworkers today were going on about some conspiracy theory that Trump faked getting covid to garner sympathy votes and *gasp* convince people covid isn't dangerous! I guess drumpf hates grannies more than he hates trans sex workers of color.

Also had different coworkers unironically call him "T. Rump" IRL

One of the best times I've had recently was watching that little girl Chris Wallace on Fox Saturday morning, talking about Trump being mere hours away from total system collapse and painful death. I watched him, and I watched Bill Hammer pretend to take him seriously, and I laughed. I laughed because Chris Wallace is pathetic, and I laughed because I knew that the odds were very good that Trump would be walking out of the hospital in mere days.
