I like to think that there are more normal people, and somewhat “normal” spergs like the people here, than we’re thinking about. What in my post said anything about doing an american style total lockdown? What i wanted was norweigan/danish style travel embargos and safety restrictions. Instead of doing nothing.
In the begning we had no clue of what the virus was capable or what it could become. It could easily have killed way more people we simply got lucky.

For an example we had no basicly no public mask requirements anywhere.
The border bascily didn´t close with citizens still being allowed to travel home or aborad.
A critical lack of the amount of emergency hospital placments and medical suplies.
The lockdown was bascily nonexistant in sweden. Nothing changed and everything was basicaly moving along as normal.
What the goverment did was simple they looked at the forcasts and the looked at the house of cards they call an economy and said: Woah dude if we do anything at all its gonna topple and shift the satus qou so lets do nothing. So yes the did it for profits and powergames. It was one of the most disgusting acts in modern swedish history.
The first and foremost objective of a goverment is to protect its citizens. Why even have a state if it could fulfil the basic needs of its people?
