Netflix, Inc. indicted by grand jury in Tyler Co., Tx for promoting material in Cuties film

The weird part is that so many leftists like to say the Constitution is outdated, a relic from colonial times, or otherwise illegitimate and they usually engage in vilification of the Founding Fathers.

Most of the time they point to the Second Amendment (and more recently, the First Amendment) as their proof, but really the only relic from the Revolutionary War era in the Constitution that has no relevance today would be the Third Amendment.
Imagine if, any time a cop was hungry, he could just pull up to a house, walk in, and take whatever food he wanted.
The third amendment is as relevant today as it ever was.

I always was under the impression that the Third Amendment only applied to military personnel and that cops were more subject to the Fourth Amendment's unlawful search and seizure clause. I could be wrong on that though.

Oh no no no my friend, that one is entirely 100% relevant. People just don't realize it.

The whole NSA data collection stuff? where they basically had all that data on Americans and just kept it. "In case"

That was 1000% a violation of the Third Amendment, just because it isn't Gomer Pyle walking in your house, taking a shit in your kitchen floor and then going through your porn hub account doesn't mean it doesn't violate the spirit of what that amendment was meant to protect from.

Sorry are we pretending there's still a legal difference between the two? Is this argument happening in 1990?

Anyone who talks shit about the Constitution should be put against a wall and shot. At least as permitted in the Constitution. Since the Constitution does not permit that, at least spit on them a lot.

Unfortunately, we can't revoke the Third Amendment just for antifa. Because it would be pretty cool if that would happen.

Dude, the whole point of forming a corporation is you, the dudes forming the corporation, are not personally responsible for anything the corporation does, nor do you have any personal liability for doing it. So the shitty corporation you formed can literally go murder a bunch of people for fun and you personally are not liable for anything resulting from that.

I started this thinking it was a defense of this whole corporation idea, but really, is this a good idea? Why have we formed our whole society on this absolutely insane idea?
In China, if you, as the owner or director of a business, violate environmental regulations, commit fraud against suppliers or customers, or engage in tax fraud, you lose social credit (as does your business).

Interesting concept

I'm not sure how viable any large-scale business would be without the corporate structure, or how anyone could get actual redress for harms done by the business. The parties to your employment contract are now you and the individual who hired you. Can you sue him for lost wages if the company doesn't pay you? Is he still on the hook if he's left for another job years ago? How much could you actually recover from him? Is the owner fully liable for the actions of his subordinates? Can a supplier trust the authority of your purchasing agent? Etc.

Sorry if this has already been raised, but I have to wonder just how much weight this indictment will carry. Being indicted by a jury in a single county in a state the company doesn't have its' headquarters in seems a little thin to me. It's not like they can bring down a big corporation like Netflix or have it's COO tossed in jail. Now, if California, New York State, and so on, got into the act, Netflix and the pervs who approved this crap movie might have something to worry about. Why this isn't happening, I don't know.

Next they should outlaw child pageantry. No, I'm not being sarcastic.
Outlaw child acting.

Yes to all of these questions.

I can’t fathom paying for shitty streaming services nowadays, Netflix and Hulu had their merits back when it was the hot new item and you know, when they had actual worthwhile content. Now you are fucked six ways from Sunday by every major company getting a slice of that digital pie, no ownership, no say from you. I already pay money to the same pricing models of internet I barely use, and a phone I barely use that this seems so pointless. Also fuck pedos, they need to get knifed in some shower in State Penitentiary, USA.

If you or I or anyone in the world were criminally convicted of something, it wouldn't matter where it was. You'd still do time for it. You could whine all you liked that you were only criminally convicted of murdering someone in a single county in the United States, they'd still put you in the gas chamber.

That's how criminal law works.

Yes, Netflix is a giant corporation so it will not, as nice as that would be, be put in a gas chamber in its entirety. They will portray this whole event as the dumbest hicks in the country viciously persecuting them while committing incest and playing banjos like the retard in Deliverance.

They will still be scum.

Yeah this is a huge problem when everybody is jumping on the streaming bandwagon now it means that the service you started with has a much smaller piece of the pie as somebody who owns the rights decides that they want to stream as well and get all that lovely streaming money. Then they realize that people aren't keen on paying $10 a month for reruns of shows, no original programming or shit they can see for free elsewhere.

I can only see two scenarios happening.

1: this gets thrown out almost immediately on the basis of free speech, everyone’s time was wasted.

2: After years of litigation, Netflix is found guilty and has to remove the film and pay a fine, but their lawyers appeal to lower the fine over and over again for the next decade until they end up paying basically nothing.

The only people who lose in this scenario are the kids who auditioned for this movie, because at least the ones that were cast got paid and got to be in arguably the most discussed movie of the year. I doubt it’ll help their career much, but that’s something.
