Things have been moving quickly in Comicsgate and keeping up with events is actually proving to be a bit of a challenge. This post will cover Comic Book Hut and Nasser.
As the only* youtuber still critically covering Comicsgate Comic Book Hut, describing himself as "the last man standing", clearly feels now is his time to rise to "Anti-Comicsgate" power now that Preston Poulter and SWC have fallen from grace. But there is still one potential contender for the laurel wreath of Anti-Caesar - Nasser Rabadi.
Hut begins by listing his own credentials of tirelessly covering the late comics, the missteps, the censorship and harassment perpetrated by Comicsgate. Where was Nasser during all this, when the fight was to be fought and the People's Champion was standing for the downtrodden? Complaining selfishly that his naiive comic book contract fell through, his only concern being not getting paid for a late, unreleased comic book he has zero interest or contribution with actually getting released to the paying backers.
Nasser apparently has had issue with the Hut in the past, but Hut admonishes him that boys should not try to start issues with their elders. Comic Book Hut was calling out when Tim Lim, Jon Del Arroz and Captain Cummings were forced out of CG while Nasser was on streams with Frog, staying silent on things like Warcampaign. Nasser would do well to heed the words of his seniors. This is why this upstart Rabadi was turned down for promotion on the Hut's channel, and things will continue to be like this going into the future unless Nasser accepts the new order.
Though one time friends, Hut has decided now is to 'go nuclear' on Thomas and Patrick, 'the Shitty Web Brothers'. Hut places the blame on SWC for their lack of preparedness on the ultimately terminal attack on their channel waged by Liam. He then goes on to eulogize their channel by its qualities of, in Hut's estimation, low effort, unwarranted smugness, disdain towards any kind of effort, lack of impact, lousy titles, lousy things going on, tireless gloating over the death of Comicsgate, making a big deal about those coins.
Now it appears that Clint Stoker has been doxed, which Hut presumes is a consequence of him going on Kiwifarms. Somebody put all his information out there. And when Clint Stoker bravely confronted Thomas Roiloup despite suspecting him to be the One That Shall Not be Named, Hut says that the latter "could have been honest" but instead answered Stoker's question in the affirmative and that this, in Hut's estimation, were the actions of an abnormal mind.
Next were critiques of SWC's recent works, Villains of the Snow Sea and Literally, which Hut deemed trash and terrible and the methods used were proof of their amateurish dumbness. This segues into Hut's view that their failure to personalize their contentions with Richard C Meyer and Ethan van Sciver in the titles of their video were the reason for their belated channel's lack of success.
Hut says he knows these opinions will be unpopular but he adds that if this doxing claim is true, then it make their coverage about doxing in Comicsgate hypocritical, and that the art in their comics is bad. Finally, Hut closes video by leveling the ultimate insult across SWC's broadside - that they sound Canadian, and that for all his faults, Hut will always speak his mind and what he says in private is what he says in public.
YuNg NaSSeR was not one to let this challenge to his good name go unanswered. Predictably, Nasser gets about thirty seconds into explaining that he doesn't know what Comic Book Hut's deal is and that he has trouble following his rambling videos anyway before getting sidetracked by going off on @Fathead and how he owes Nasser money. He does however get back on course tendering his rebuttal, which is that Comic Book Hut's intro is boring, that deep down Hut is desperate for validation from Frog, he's trying to copy Zack's bit, that he wishes he was in Warcampaign back in the day, that Hut is saying he was the first to say things against Comicsgate but Nasser corrects him by saying that honour belong to SWC.
What semblance of detachment Rabadi has goes out the window when he reaches Hut's take on the with Donal, saying that Hut throws the word "boy" a lot for someone who isn't "isn't allowed to be around children" and many other inferences along those lines. Lacking knowledge in Hut's sexual history myself, assuming such a thing exists, I can't say anything either way regarding these allegations. Nasser says he vouched for Jon del Arroz privately, and that Tim Lim/Cummings don't even care if Nasser came to their defense or not (lol). Nasser also argues that for all his talk of advocacy, Hut never had his back when he was railroaded out of Comicsgate.
Meanwhile, back in actual Comicsgate, there is a rumbling in the background. The senseless doxing of innocent lamb SweetCast has struck a chord in the Comicsgate peasantry. A dark, DragonBall Z-themed shadow has fallen over the land, as Comicsgaters from all walks of life and opposed factions gather around Clint Stoker's tweet, ranging from Billy Tucci, creator of Shi, to Panboy Soychild Donglover, co-leader of Warcampaign, to commiserate their shared victimization at the hands of the Kiwi who Smugs. But as despair started to sink in with the faithful, a shepherd arrived with a message of hope.
ThatUmbrellaGuy arrives to rally the lost and aimless, being one who has suffered multiple doxes, who can speak at length and experience at the depredations of Comicsgate's enemies. The average Comicsgater lives in a world of rose-tinted glasses, swelled with their own success, but TUG's eyes have been opened, and he will help all see the true source of all this discontent and fear... Thomas Roiloup.
United, Comicsgate could defeat this unchecked evil, but only if it can put their differences aside. Dipping a flag in Clint Stoker's dox-blood, Liam, Micah and others have heeded TUG's call to unite and stop Anti-CG once and for all, opening this contest into a chaotic three-way conflict.
