Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

the story in gta v is stupid and pointless and director mode is better than story mode.
Thank you! I hate Michael's family so fucking much, and it sucks so hard that the entire plot of the game beats him down for wanting to punish them for their misdeeds. The whole god damn game seems like it was designed specifically to cuck Michael and beats you over the head with it non-stop.

I think Bioshock Infinite is awful.
Bioshock Infinite is objectively awful.

I am convinced that there is an entire act of GTAV that was cut out where Mike, Frankin and Trevor get their shit straight and finally hash out their problems, because the lead in into the final missions is completely out of left field.

Don't forget about Lamar being nothing but a worthless, childish nigger that did everything in his power to make Franklin's life a nightmare.

Battlefield 1942 was the apex of the series. Also the last multiplayer game I enjoyed.
I dislike any sort of skins, or equipment being kept beyond a progression gate, in a game like that.
Or any progression at all tbh.

Enemy submarine spotted, good old days.

I don't know who decided that shooters need to be limited to two weapons at a time, but they need to be punched in the dick.
Especially when the upgrade stations for the weapons are fairly rare and only usable once, so you upgrade your favourite gun and not a single enemy drops ammo for it for the next hour of the game, forcing you to switch to a weaker, un-upgraded weapon.

It’s been said before, but I hate the fact that people are going to be spending $70 to play a game that people think that the trailer is what’s going to be exactly in said game.

Even in the beginning of the video, there’s literally a fan’s arm going through someone’s body.

But no.

It’s all about MUH SWEAT, MUH GRAPHICS AND MUH BALLHOOP with these people.

Lamar was meant to have a bigger role but his VA couldn´t commit to gta v and ended up with a smaller role. I think the deathwish option would´ve actually ended up with franklin dead and letting you play as Lamar.

I dunno how they can say MUH GRAPHICS when even the player looks like shit, god damn Abby looked more human than the guy in the forefront.

For sports games they use a shitload of mocap and scanning. So most of the stuff is done by clean up artists.

It's what people think delivers realism if you can digitize everything and 1:1 put it into a game. There's no deviation allowed so everything looks bland and lifeless.

I really can't believe you didn't get to kill Lamar, or the yoga instructor for that matter.

The GTA5 trio are all mass murderers and yet Trevor is the only one with a spine when dealing with people he knows

13 Sentinels is probably the closest thing to a spiritual successor to Lucas Arts adventure games than any of the Telltale games ever were.

There's fail states, there's timed events(i.e. getting on the right train at the right time) to get specific pathways, time travel fuckery, using the right item at the right time, being able to explore all of the environment on the screen. And they top it off with a mech upgrade system and an SRPG tower defense part of the game.

The one short coming is that the puzzles are not that elaborate so the actual inventory items remain few and far between, but this also means the puzzles don't get obtuse either which was a problem with the genre.

Disagree, Battlefield 2 was the best in the series.

It really created the genre of a sandbox game.

I will say that going back and playing it now (i played that remaster that came out about a decade ago) it felt like it had lost some of it's polish specifically not being able to customize your gun.

I'm not a big fan of the skins though in modern games.

One of the appeals of BF2 to me was each faction had it's own uniform and it was easy to tell who was who

Quake Wars was excellent, you should have played that, I also heard from people that liked Quake Wars that Dirty Bomb was good. QW and Battlefield on Xbox Arcade(BF1942, Wake Island only!) was probably the last multiplayer shooters I had any real interest in or fun with. PUBG seemed really fun when it first exploded but meeeeeeh.

That doesn't sound like a Lucas Arts adventure at all.

13 Sentinels is a disappointing experience that tried to overreach the ability of the medium (heck, even most writers would be hard pressed to have 13 main characters at once in a non-linear story). I've elaborated on why it's disappointing in th Visual Novel thread.
