Here’s the thing, it was Ryan who escalated things to sex. Every account with evidence points to the people he slept with being content to just talk in DMs about being a fan or listening to Ryan bitch about his marriage and how things were going down the tubes. As for victims or groupies trying to jump on a bandwagon, we’ve had one person say that they were underage after sex finished and Ryan not really caring, and the Leigh person seems to give the impression that she got caught up in the excitement of it all and is only now realizing the type of person Ryan is and his taste on groupies. As for legal ramifications, either there’s nothing to go by, or nobody felt it crossed a need to go to the police, and either way, this is everything people claimed the Vic situation to be.

I look at it this way:
The situation with Ryan might not be all that dissimilar from Bill Cosby or Harvey Weinstein. While some of these hoes are probably lying and out for attention, others have put forth credible evidence. Ryan sucks, even if a lot of these bitches do too. I don't have to believe every accusation leveled at Weinstein to believe he's a piece of shit. I ought to apply the same standard to Ryan.

It's amazing - I think this is a consequence of the youtube generation. I'm older and started performing in bands in my teens. My first big gig touring with a semi-national famous act was when I was 17 (and way before the internet was a thing!) the first day the bandleader sat me down and told me outright, "You don't fuck anyone who comes to the shows. I find out you fucked anyone at a show and you're fired. A chick who likes the band will drag 4 of her friends to a show because that's what chicks do. If you fuck a fan and blow her off so now she hates us, that's 5 chicks not coming to a show buying tickets and merch. You just cost me money so you'll be fired". It was like a light bulb went off in my head - I had never looked at music before as a business but it made total sense. And in the few years I was with the band I did see the leader fire people for fucking fans so I knew he was serious.
Fast forward to the 00s and you have people who become youtube famous. People who, if the internet had never existed would have never become famous. People who didn't "earn" their fame and didn't have the benefit of coming up under the tutelage of people who were already famous. People, who by all accounts, would barely get laid if they had never become famous. So you have people who have no idea how to handle fame, can't deal with having all this crazy pussy thrown at them, and have no idea how to act. Ergo, you get these crazy scandals one after another that are eerily alike; awkward soyboy bangs weird, very young, unstable fangirls who now claim victimhood.
Bad for them. Entertaining for us.
Thankfully because I came up in a time where you had to work your way up and I learned, I have never fucked a chick at any show. I restrict my dating and fuckbuddies to a small circle of friends I came up with and recommendations from within that group.
Fun fact: A friend of mine was in Liza Minnelli's band for many years (wow - that statement alone makes me sound old!) and he had told me that she routinely hired and paid for hookers for the band after the shows in every city. This is dead on. A lot of these guys are nerdy and introverted, or not that physically attractive, or are just otherwise not going to get that sort of attention without some kind of name/face recognition. I imagine that it's a sort of vindication for these guys - the same sorts of girls who wouldn't fuck them when they were in high school are suddenly all over them, and they get drunk on that feeling. Ryan jumped headfirst into his "role" as Mad King Ryan - the dangerous and powerful man who's also a suave casanova with a swarm of eager women at his beck and call - and you can tell he really loved acting like that, whether it was for a joke or for more "serious" stuff. I think he started to sincerely believe that he was invincible and could do whatever - and whoever - he wanted with impunity, which is why he took no practical precautions to keep his nose clear and relied heavily on manipulation.
It's honestly embarrassing to me. How can someone think so highly of themselves, to the point of it being almost masturbatory, and yet not have common fucking sense? If you're going to cheat and fuck a billion fans, you'd better have more plausible deniability than "no way that bitch is crazy!", cause that's not gonna fly forever.
