My understanding is that this is why most modern gymnasts all look 11. Puberty changes the center of gravity, so you spend, say, 6 years of your childhood getting to the elite and then all of a sudden you come crashing down. Or you can, you know, develop anorexia so you never have to go through puberty and thereby extend your career a few years.

Would a double amputee get a full-time carer? Especially someone as otherwise physically fit as Kelly still seems to be?

Not for leg amputations, she can still wipe her ass and wash her face. Physical therapy, though, yes- they'll want her to be able to transfer herself from bed to chair, etc

Whether she'll cooperate or not is another matter. She may fake weakness and try to get a caregiver. I don't know what the payment system there is like so I'm unsure if that will happen

Holy shit, she's singing the praises of an ancient wheelchair. You can tell she's so excited to have a visible issue and can't wait for all the pity glances she'll get in public. No one will be able to say she's not struggling now, I can't wait for her Mobility Mary style videos.

You can see the progression of the size of her feet through these images. They're doing a Doppler on her feet, she's got almost no pulse.

No update from that doctor on fig1. The comments he accepted were recommending inpatient wound care, I think she signed herself out AMA. It's why she's "sent home with bandages" and getting a wheelchair from a friend.

She talks about "keeping my legs really clean" which I read as "picking at every bit of healing tissue", she's not just washing she's getting in there and picking and cutting and scraping.

The photo of her legs in leggings is pretty bad, she'll be walking on bone at this rate.

I don't think doing an extension like she's doing in the last picture is particularly smart, though it's Kelly, why would anything be an intelligent choice? Lifting your leg like that involves tightening the muscles of our calf, which hers are clearly fucked. Her foot also is flexed, which tightens the hamstrings. It doesn't look like she's resting it on the bedrail, either.

Sorry, gimme all the dashing top hats, but her claims of being a super serious dancer piss me off when she does shit like this. If she were a real dancer, she a) wouldn't have fucked up her legs so badly to begin with and b) not make her body do things that's going to injure it or prevent it from healing. Her showing off like that just rustles my jimmies.

I also think they don't want to set a precedent/expectation. We all know munchies have their drugs/treatments of choice. "It's the only thing that works, doc! (Insert name of most often prescribed pain killer) doesn't touch it! I need an epidural!"

An epidural would make her lose feeling from the placement of the nerve block, down. Her entire legs would be numb. She'd be able to do more damage without feeling it. She wouldn't be able to do physical therapy to try to keep her legs, any part of them, alive. Any infection pain would be unnoticed.

Also, she'd have to stay inpatient for it. They don't last, it's not a shot you can go back and get every few days. She just wants more procedures and it's pretty clear her doctors know that she just wants more procedures pleeeeeeez and the medical options don't include more procedures.

Minor PL but I’ve worked a lot with epidurals and I have no idea what she thinks it’ll do but there’s no way she’s getting one. As cuddle said, there’s a risk even with ‘normal’ people that they won’t notice early signs of further injury or infection if they can’t feel their legs.

There are also risks from the epidural itself. There’s absolutely no way she wouldn’t claim nerve damage. There’s also accidental dural puncture which is nasty and opens the hospital to risks of lawsuits. Dural puncture is where the needle punctures the membrane of the spinal cord and makes it leak. You usually get a really nasty headache, back pain for a couple of weeks or so, faintness (you know she’d get an injury falling!) and often need a blood patch which can also cause infection and nerve damage.

You wouldn’t perform one on a known munchie; there’s every chance they’d claim complications and request further interventions and a hospital stay.

Edit: and it’s not just that she wouldn’t be able to feel her legs, she wouldn’t be able to move them so PT is out and she’d need help with toileting etc.

She seems to have a slight yellowish hue to her skin in the latest photo. The antibiotics and other meds she's taking to stave off infection must be taking their toll.

Anyone think Kelly got dermatillomania (skin picking) or dermatophagia (skin eating+peeling)? The satisfaction from skin removal negs the pain, so maybe that's why she enjoys it. Ya know, on top of the self harming munchie stuff. It all works together to make her rotting crippled ass.

No, I don't think it's that. Dermatillomania has an obsessive-compulsive component to it. Often times they cannot help it and have the urge to pick anyway despite wanting to stop and their fears of ailments like sepsis. They tend to feel a lot of shame for their actions, cover up their wounds and scars, and can even manage to get away with hiding it from medical professionals for a long time.

Kelly does this for attention and actively seeks out doctors to fill in the blanks for her with no shame, she never does anything to help herself. She also posts photos of her legs all over the internet. It just doesn't line up, psychologically.
