From what he's said, and a bit of personal experience with cancer and thyroid issues in family members, treatment could work and he could be alright long term with repeated follow up treatment.
He was talking about radio, not chemo, for the lymphoma, which usually has good results. The thyroid issues could be treated with medication, but it depends on what they turn out to be, specifically.
I think the main thing to be worried about here is the possible pituitary tumour, and the resulting brain surgery if it turns out to be true.

What's good is that they seem to be going very proactive and quick with the test and such. The faster they get the full picture, the better.

My understanding is that it's all relatively new (newer than when he was streaming semi-regularly at the very least), with the indolent lymphoma being the probable diagnosis for some time. However a few other things have been throwing up red flags, thus delaying treatment, since the original diagnosis which has eventually led him to finding a new set of specialists who are actually working at faster pace trying to narrow down exactly what is happening.

So glad that Jim was able to get fast speedy treatment right in the middle of a pandemic. Oh man, WuFlu-19 is really a Godsend for Jim. Honestly this is the best thing that could of happened. Honestly I think Jim has had cancer this whole time (the symptoms line up with another Cancer person I know). I think he is scared cause it's serious now. I think he doesn't wanna swallow his pride about a lot of things. I think he wants the sympathy (which is fine, this is scary). I think he doesn't want to feel alone and some things can't be comforted by your wife and her family. I think he never wanted to be treated with kid gloves because he never wanted to be weak. I think he doesn't have the strength to fight with anyone. I think he still wants to laugh at people. I think he is scared to be held to his own ideology because by his own standards he doesn't measure up anymore.

If he was straight up admitting he was scared and needed the support right now? I would say yes
But that's not what is happening. He's trying to be Mr. Tough guy while using the illness as a shield when he didn't afford others the same Luxury. Jim never wanted to be treated differently this whole time, why start now.
No one is treating him differently, Jim tends to attract people who really hate him or really like him and both sides will continue to do what they do, just with different talking points now.

Yeah, man, maybe he's scared and this is his way of dealing with it. He uncharacteristically decloaked a major element of his personal life. Maybe the sympathy and support is comforting to him, maybe he's making use of the tips and advice others are throwing his way, who knows. Having your own inherent mortality shoved in your face does weird things to people.
