They seem to believe that booting government officials from their social media accounts is an effective killshot to silence and neuter them, rather than act as a spread-eagle invitation to get themselves turned out by the government's massive law boner. Really goes to show how utterly addicted these people are to social media and internet asspats, the concept of "real world" consequences hardly registers with them.
Twitter's been making a massive miscalculation for a long time now. I've always been fond of saying "Twitter isn't real life" because that's at the core of the mistake they've been making. None of this actually matters. Not the MSM interviews, not the Tweets, Facebook posts, the seething statements from Democrats, it's all pointless, ethereal fluff that will be forgotten in a week. People love to compare the modern world to Orwell's 1984, but Orwell himself made a huge mistake when it came to painting up his dystopia, much the same way that Twitter made a mistake when crafting theirs.
Big Brother's dystopia relied on people gaslighting themselves into insanity. The only way that society could function was if everyone who took part in it drove themselves into a constant, fanatical state where nothing but the present mattered. In reality, very few people do that, and I mean
very few. Sure, you have plenty of people who are willing to sit in front of Twitter and Facebook all day, every day, consuming every piece of rage-bait that flies by their eyeballs to make themselves more fanatical than they were yesterday, but that's not the average person.
Twitter saw it
more than fit to push story after story about the Trump Tower/Russian Collusion meeting and they never batted an eye, but when Hunter Biden's crapped briefs started to waft into the room, there wasn't a second's hesitation. They slammed the door shut so hard that it caught the fucking House Judiciary Committee's dicks in the door. Fanatics will clearly side with Twitter, but sane people don't like hypocrisy, and Twitter and Facebook have been
hemorrhaging their userbases for several years now. You are
much more likely to find someone who's deactivated their Facebook or Twitter account, someone who's just stopped using them entirely, or someone who was banned from the platforms than you are to come across someone who just made a new account or uses it religiously.
The remaining groups are the political fanatics, the people who only use Facebook to talk to those 3 aunts they hate but don't want to actually visit, or the people who've started using the platform in an
incredibly niche fashion. The result of this is Facebook and Twitter constantly trying to cater to the people who are left, the people who are extreme enough to handle whatever the current gaslighting is doing. As this speeds up, the gaslighting has to become more and more intense, and with every iteration you risk 'breaking the conditioning' by trying to push a lie that's too hard to believe, causing people to splinter off. The cycle resets, the gaslighting amps up for the remaining users, and it just keeps going.
The mainstream media is suffering from this same cycle, which is why so many stories that come flying off the shelves these days seem so objectively insane: It's because they are. They're catering to what must be the 8th or 9th cycle of lunatics who have superglued their hands to the 200MPH merry-go-round in a stubborn refusal to come back to reality. This is even visibly measurable on the Farms, as we've seen
several users who were vociferously anti-Trump at the onset of this election throw their hands up and go, "No, this is fucking crazy." They didn't always become pro-Trump, but they definitely don't trust the mainstream media or the Democrats anymore.
Social media is for the insane. The mainstream media is for the insane. Democratic politicians are
insane, but they're not stupid. They knew exactly what they were doing and spent the last six years trying to lay the foundations for a massive gaslighting campaign that utilized the MSM and social media to blanket everyone under half-truths and objective lies in an effort to completely crush objective reality to cater to the needs of the gaslit. The reason they're so angry now is because they've just realized how useless it was, and how far away from the voting public this has placed them. They are
miles from the border to Crazy Town, in the wrong direction, and it's 18 days until the election.
All those carefully-crafted, anonymously-sourced stories, all of these donations, the waves of account bans and trumped-up scandals, and it did nothing. It prevented nothing. Trump's influence just kept growing and the average citizen still didn't give a shit about what they were saying. They spent years of their time and hundreds of millions to build an absolutely monsterous series of algorithms to fuel their gaslighting machine and it didn't do anything. If anything it made it
worse.
So why is Trump so focused on social media? Why is he on Twitter and why is he saber-rattling 230 protections every morning for breakfast? Why is he constantly attacking something that
does not matter? Because they think it does. Because they've committed all of their resources to defending this hill because they think that this hill is the entire country and all known reality and it's the only thing that matters. Social media and the mainstream media are--in relation to the election--barely anything more than an attempt to ply for the popular vote.
The popular vote isn't how you win elections. They're falling for the same trick all over again.
