I notice that after the primaries, Joe has gone even more progressive than before. I’m sure his tax plan sounds appealing to the youth, but anyone with a substantial enough income will probably be disused by it (because even though he claims he won’t add any extra taxes to those who make less than $400K a year, those programs he supports don’t fund themselves). Additionally, Obama already had a history of trying to implement more green energy programs (which ended up failing). I predict that Biden will try the same things Obama did and get the same results. Even if Biden were younger and dementia free, I still don’t think he would appeal to the demographics that have stable incomes and a lot to lose.
