It's the eternal issue: Conservatives are good at getting shit done that's necessary to survival (building stuff, growing food, etc,) and Leftists are good at artsy shit and entertainment. That's because progressivism (and a separate class of people dedicated to creating art) only become viable in a resource rich environment. In a poor environment, people are too busy scrounging for survival to even think about making art, beyond whatever they choose to make for themselves in their meager spare time. They're also too poor to worry about social justice, microaggressions, or whether or not Alphabet folks are getting properly represented in the media they read. For the longest time, the world was largely (what we would call) conservative, because most of the world could not support the type of environment that would produce a Progressive lifestyle with its values and activism. Once the world became hi-tech and wealthy enough to support the more viable strains of Marxism, you started to see Marxism popping up everywhere.
During the 20th Century, most of the culture was still in Conservative hands, so most of pop culture still catered to Main Street values, even though most artists were still Leftist back then. You started to see that change after World War 2, when the prosperity level went way up, Leftists started making headway with the culture, and SJWism increased. Now we've reached the other extreme where Leftist media producers have nothing restraining them from screeching their politics from the heavens in all of their works, but they lose money doing it, since Conservatives (or non-radicalized liberals) still make up a huge chunk of the population. And virtually no one wants to buy wokeness-tainted media because it's basically the Lefty version of Christian Rock: All message-no entertainment. So now we're all stuck in a pit where the people who do know how to make good movies and comics and cartoons are shrieking Church Ladies with TDS, and the people who don't know how to make good media (but who have the money to support it) try weakly to produce something that will appeal to them. And it's not nearly as good as the stuff that was once made by Leftists back when they felt they had to cater to Conservatives.
