Remember a few months back when a bunch of documents leaked from the NYT's unsecured FTP server? Nothing too damning or surprising, but one was a
list of talking points from the Biden campaign (biden_campaign.pdf).
It then goes on to claim that Biden's working to have Shomkin removed was appropriate.
What I find interesting here is "Any claims are wholly unfounded" (broad claim) justified by justification of specific Biden action (narrow claim). One of the first MSM articles against this leak was a WaPo one "debunking" this same very specific thing, presumably attempting to give the impression that the entire leak is debunked.
They are incredibly defensive of Hunter and have been for some time. Clean or dirty, it makes no sense to me, but I forget they're boomers who think MSM will simply jannie up anything they don't like. Even if it's true, a minor cash for access scandal isn't damning for Joe, and any dirt on Hunter alone can be hand waved as "I am not my son".
Another interesting spin is using the fact that Silicon Valley is censoring this (on "hacked material" justification) as evidence that it is fake. These are unrelated, like "it didn't happen and they totally had it coming to them".
Another angle on mass tech censorship: Tech is under a ton of heat from the chattering class for letting "fake news" "steal" the election in 2016. Plenty of idiots still believe memes, Clinton's emails, and "fake news" were why Trump won because they think the internet is real life. They may have gotten a phone call warning them that if they fail to suppress this, the heat will intensify.
Seriously, why the fuck would you lead the response to this with, "This information was hacked!" and not "Holy shit my son is not a child molester,
go fuck yourself!" Granted, the response came from the MSM and not from Biden's Campaign--Sorry for repeating myself--but the fact remains that even if this
was true, and I knew the person
was guilty and I wanted to defend them, the very first thing out of my mouth would be outrage and dismissal, not trying to make the claim that the information was obtained illegitimately.
"Hey, I took your son's wallet and it's full of pictures of him molesting children at the local playground, doing meth and robbing banks, did you know about this?
"You stole my son's wallet? What the fuck!"
We're going on day three of this and we've still not heard a single fucking word from the Biden campaign. No journalists have asked him any questions, no journalists have tried to get ahold of Hunter Biden, and Joe's campaign has not said one, single, solitary fucking word. Joe's known only too well to fly completely off the handle when you so much as mention Hunter's name. It's clearly one of his hot buttons, and yet here we have a national scandal that caused two of the biggest companies in America to come bursting through the door with both barrels to try and stop it, immediately get subpoenaed by the Senate for it, all over allegations that Hunter Biden is a sleazy piece of shit and... Joe has absolutely nothing to say about that for three straight days?
No canned dismissal of the allegations, no threats of a lawsuit over fabricated information, no outrage because someone faked documents pertaining to his son, just complete and total radio silence? No, I'm sorry, that's fucking weird. If Joe's campaign doesn't come out with a statement today to try and explain what's going on, I'm really going to start wondering why they're being so quiet when this campaign-destroying allegation is being leveled at them
two weeks away from an election.
If this information is
fake and they can
prove it, they could punch Trump in the dick so hard that it could cost him the election, because he threw his weight in the ring not long after the story broke out. Hell, they wouldn't even need to prove it, they'd just need to fan up the outrage over Trump "fabricating a story to attack Joe Biden's family with spurious allegations" long enough to coast past the finish line before anyone demanded any hard evidence.
What's the hold-up? Why is Joe's campaign suddenly completely disinterested in attacking Trump?
