Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Can someone please fucking tell me what the actual source for the "Biden calling a lid on the campaign" stuff whenever it happens. It's been driving me fucking NUTS. Every time I see people on my Twitter feed posting this information and I can never get a fucking reply where they are getting this information. How is it put out by the campaign? I don't want to rely on some Tweet in my feed, I want to get straight to the source.

Biden campaign makes an announcement and the "reporters" on twitter tweet about it. After these get reported the Biden campaign doesn't do anything that day. Or atleast Biden doesn't.

This happens physically? Like how? Do these reporters have a tent pitched outside of the campaign office of something and this Jen person comes out and tells them "no Joe today"?

The campaign -- the White House does this also -- each day announces to the reporters in the press room or the press pool that there are no more public events that day. This is calked "the lid." The practice goes back decades, and means that it's safe to go home. It can be a verbal announcement, an email, or any other kind of communication. It is a convention, but not a formal practice.

It's stolen from a UN framework for rebuilding nations after disasters.

"The principle of 'Build Back Better' is generally understood to use the disaster as a trigger to create more resilient nations and societies than before. This was through the implementation of well-balanced disaster risk reduction measures, including physical restoration of infrastructure, revitalization of livelihood and economy/industry, and the restoration of local culture and environment"

Yeah, nothing NWO-esque about using disasters to reshape societies and culture. Nope. Not at all.
So they’re saying that Trump’s presidency is the disaster? Or the riots? Because the infrastructure damage is only sort of tangentially Trump’s fault.

Maybe it's because it's early and I'm groggy but I just realized that at this point I'm suspicious the real reason Dems have been pushing for early voting so hard, especially these last couple weeks, is because they knew this was all going to come out and wanted peoples votes to be locked in before something came out that really made everyone question their support for Biden

Kinda basically. If you’re assigned to the “press pool” for a candidate you stay in hotels near him and show up early in the morning. The campaign coordinator gives you a schedule of appearances that day and you plan out with coworkers who will cover what. A “lid” is the coordinator telling the pool “hit the bars, nothing more today.”

According to that Daily Caller screenshot posted around last night or so, the major drop implicating Joe himself will, according to Giuliani, be posted exactly ten days before the election.
I looked on the calendar and that's a Saturday. Wouldn't that be a non-advantageous day?
Also wait lol that's UN Day.

Apparently Joe's called a lid again as of 9AM this morning. If you're looking for your missing Tupperware lids you might want to try Joe Biden's house. If you think that joke is low effort don't blame me. I'm not putting more effect into this than Grandpa Joe is.

The "releasing it piecemeal" strategy is genius. It's like not showing the monster in a horror movie, whatever illegal shit Biden does will be nothing compared to what people dream up and share over the next couple of weeks.
Except when you do release it and it turns out the monster was the old sheriff with a sheet over his head.

If they don't have anything important, or conclusive this could backfire hard.

And as my old running mate used to say... *squints* Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun!
To be fair "two Big Macs for five bucks!" is a more appealing campaign platform than anything the dnc's put out so far. Maybe it's not a bad strategy.
